Sadly, there are lots of locations that you might not want to take your gun with you. I know, the 2nd should be interpreted to mean you can have it with you anytime anyplace but the reality doesn't match the intent anymore thanks to the crybaby whining libs who 'just want safety'. So, if you plan on traveling with a weapon, the best advice would be to make sure you check the laws on the books where you're going so you don't end up incorrectly charged with following the rights you're supposedly guaranteed.

P.S. If you stumble on to some coyotes or narco traffickers in the SW deserts, you may be outgunned.

My thought on travel, if by car, is to not go where reciprocity isn’t given. For me here in Georgia where my WCL is, that means I don’t go to South Carolina if that is a personal option. All the other surrounding states have reciprocity.

My county and my Sheriff.
Damn I am gonna miss him, since he is stepping down to run for Congress.
As for the drug smuggling?
Again, Babeu is right. I have found their garbage piles close to my home. Old clothes, tooth paste tubes, carpet slippers and other junk discarded where they met up with their transportation to Phoenix. Then because the Federals and ACLU’s nuetering of MCSO Sheriff Arpaio, from Phoenix, they are home free to head oun out to your home town.

I carry mine, yesterday out for a mix of 4-wheeling and hiking. Only lingering concern is that state line with California, just a few miles away. Always got to watch that a mountain road or trail doesn’t wander across.

Yes. I’m very bummed out that corporations and homosexual marriage licenses are recognized nationally, but not my CHP.

Since MEMORIAL DAY might just run anathema to the backward minds of those poor, misguided, downtrodden, Mohammedans being shipped into this nation of mine, goodgawdallmightyYES carry a firearm, open if it is in your state, concealed if it is not!!

I know this is not what most would agree with, but if I’m driving, I always take protection in the form of a firearm. I stayed a week in Chicago, and I carried. I know, I know, Chicago doesn’t allow ANY firearms. Too bad so many people get killed by them there!

I’d rather be judged by twelve than carried by six. I know the risk if I’m caught. The thing is, in all other ways I’m model citizen and follow the law, and am courteous and respectful of every one I meet, and that goes for everyday folks as was as law enforcement.

I am always polite and compliant when/if I am questioned by police or pulled over, but I do NOT disclose I am armed.

The firearm I carry is there as a LAST resort. I have a right to protect my life, but I also have a personal obligation to God not to argue, fight or even brandish what I carry. I ask that He remove and protect me from all dangerous persons whom I’d have no resort but to kill to defend my life. So far that’s worked out.

I’ll always run away or flee if at all possible. Same with driving. No road rage nor response to it except to wave and apologize. But the bottom line is I will protect myself, and if it has to come down to the law versus my life, I’ll protect my life.
