CRUZ said it is his "hope" that the Republicans nominate a conservative, SIGNALING THAT THE NOMINEE HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED. "What I hope is that we have a Republican nominee that will actually defend conservative principles," Cruz said.
Cruz ... is still working to elect delegates, "even though Donald has the delegates to get the nomination." "One of the reasons that we are continuing to work to elect conservatives to be delegates, ... we intend to do everything we can to fight for conservative principles to prevent Washington forces from watering down the platform."....

Rafael won't be eligible in 2020, 2024, 2028, or ever.
Hell be lucky to keep his Senate seat.
Will Texans remember in 2018 that their sitting Senator neglected mentioning that he was Canadian when he ran in 2012? What's that old saying about a "lie of omission?"
The Face of God is a jealous God. Thou shalt have no republicans before Him.
Alright smartass, show me your proof!!! You can’t because you do not have it, pure speculation.
Clarification. Conservatives are not unethical, lying, immoral, back stabbers. Ted Cruz is the poster boy for those with these attributes; thus he is not a conservative.
Had they been paying attention, Trump has been more to the right than all the other candidates this whole campaign, including Cruz. That's the reason Trump is the peoples' candidate.
Get over it...he lost, he's a DAMNED FRAUD, and YOU and a few other drooling Cruz sycophants need to grow up and wake up !
EXCELLENT idea!
It is a matter of finding the right candidate to run. Rick would be a great opponent to “Ted Man Walking”.
Even if his parents did file a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, which we don’t know if they did, that would make him a naturalized citizen, not a natural born citizen.
There has been speculation this was not done until he was 16 and wanted a driver’s license and a passport for a school trip.
He was solely a Canadian until 16 in that scenario.
He did not renounce his Canadian citizenship until 2014.
One cannot be anything else and be a natural born citizen.
It is an exclusionary term that means solely a US citizen.
Good point!
Cruz is so conservative he’s breaking his promise to support the nominee.
That shows what Cruz really is.
He was a citizen of the US since the day he was born.
***************
Biff I’d agree with you if Cruz’s mother was still a US citizen. She was in England
for a few years and had a child there some two years after her divorce from her first
husband. Had she became a citizen of England as her ex-husband did at some point.
I’m not sure when he did nor if she ever did. Releasing her records would clear that
up. We know that Edward had Canadian citizenship but the rest we aren’t privy to
actual data to make a conclusive determination. I also don’t know what the laws
of England are regarding releasing any data if she had citizenship there.
Some people never recover from TDS.
Not my speculation...

Business cards for his private practice in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Oh Cruz is totally not a natural born citizen and not eligible to serve as President.
I question whether he is even an American citizen and eligible to be a Senator. Or if he is, was he one for the required length of time.
“Cruz, and all conservatives, should be pushing Trump to the right. That’s healthy for the party and the republic. “
EXACTLY!!
Any politician; including Reagan in the past; need to be kept accountable.
We don’t want a king.
Politicians serve us; not the opposite.
Oddly, no one can answer either question from what we have available to us.
I really don’t want another sealed records mystery candidate.
What have the “conservative positions” of the house and senate
done for you?
Nothing.
Unlike Trump, they actually have the power to affect change.
They chose not to use that power.
Neither do I. Sealed records, rightly or wrongly, state there is something to hide.
If a candidate cannot be fully vetted, they have no business even running.
