The American military is warning residents of ISISs Syrian capital to leave the citysuggesting that an offensive on Raqqa was imminent, two Pentagon officials told the Daily Beast.
In the past day, residents of Raqqa have posted photos of the warnings on Twitter, saying they were airdropped on leaflets by the U.S.-led coalition. The defense officials were the first to confirm that the coalition had indeed issued the warnings.

" In Psyops, the effective bombing campaign might produce 10x the effect if the population is told it is coming in advance. After it is promulgated, one can erode confidence in the enemy chain of command, either by repetitive propaganda bombing, or by making good on the threat, then repeating the action with another warning threat. After a while, the enemy forces become more reliant on your message, than on the word of their own chain of command."Here's the problem - that only works when CoC holds his cards close to his vest and might accept proximate civ casualties.
Bobo has - for 8 long years - chokeholded our armed forces with NO civ casualties as SOP, and ruined careers that deviated from that so much as +1. Endless FReep threads attest to same.

bomb them one day, feed them the next?I would say, in the eyes of many around the world, that sums up the United States to a tee.

Exactly. War is most effective when the price the enemy pays is high. Crap like this only prolongs a conflict.

This leaflet shows the difference in how civilized people wage war versus how barbarians do it. ISIS not only doesnt warn people theyre about to attack, they deliberately target innocent civilians. But the United States cares enough about civilians trapped in ISIS-controlled areas that we at least give them a chance to get out of the way. While I appreciate the high moral ground you advocate I'm willing to bet any ISIS who can read is bugging out right now.
And for those of you thinking that this is a recent phenomenon, the U.S. dropped warning leaflets on some of the Japanese cities a couple of days before we bombed the stuffing out of them during World War II.
Wasn't this toward the end of the war when Japan was pretty much defeated?
We're not there yet with ISIS.
Plus, we didn't have troops on the ground in Japan at this point.

WHY in the HELL do you ANNOUNCE what you're going to do? No need for anyone to answer. It was only a rhetorical question.
To: Donglalinger
Actually, no.
This would not be unusual.
It is chivalrous. It is the western way.

When Trump takes office:
Satellites see ISIS beginning a parade of troops and weaponry down a main thoroughfare in one of the captured cities...
US Navy warplanes fly down the street and wipe out every living being and destroy every piece of equipment in minutes...
Another US Navy plane follows about 15 minutes after the attack...
It drops leaflets that tell the people we are coming....

My thought exactly, what does it accomplish to bomb the place to rubble if all the Muslim bastards have cleared out?
To: wildbill
Didnt I recall seeing that a squadron of B52 BUFFs had been sent to the Mid East not too long ago.?
Maybe we wont carpet bomb, just throw-rug bomb the jihadis.
Wouldn’t surprise me if there is something brewing there. I’m sure the kenyan wants to go out with a BANG.
