Donald Trump says theres a 40 percent chance he picks someone from this years Republican presidential field as his vice president. But the odds-on favorite to win the veepstakes: Newt Gingrich.
The former speaker of the house was a perpetual thorn in the side of the Bill Clinton administration. And he sounds like hes relishing a shot at Hillary Clinton. Gingrich has lavished praise on Trump. The business mogul has not said much about the man named Newt. But oddsmakers and betting markets like Gingrinchs chances nonetheless.
In this unpredictable election season, bookies have some other strange options in mind for Trump. On betting site PaddyPower, you can place money on Mitt Romney (66/1), Lindsey Graham (80/1) and even Trumps daughter (50/1) as of May 13...

If he were to pick Cruz, the dems would have everything they need to attack. All of the ads against Cruz during the primaries, the rallies etc would be played over and over again. Not to mention, it makes Mr Trump look like he was lying, himself! Yes, we need to unite but, not by putting Sen Cruz in as the candidate for VP.
jmho
Soon it will be on the menu of one of those sports betting sites.
And I agree it is dumb.
yes Newt for chief of staff, not vp
My pick, Marsha Blackburn
Sarah Palin.
Yep it really narrows it down.
Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland.
What about Mia Love from Utah?
YES to Sessions and Palin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And mine. She has been forever solid in the House. I couldn't wait to see her help with the Senate. I B a dreamer..
Hunter would be a terrible choice?
WTF are you talking about?
Do you know anything about him?
Honored combat veteran, excellent on all defense issues, has been supporting Trump from nearly the beginning, go do some research before shooting your mouth off in ignorance.
If Wisconsin votes for Trump, it will be because of him, not because of Gov. Walker. Walker does not have high approval ratings and barely won in ‘14 (a good GOP year) against an execrable Dem nominee. Fact is, VP nominees tend not to particularly help Republican candidates from Dem-leaning states. Ryan (WI) didn’t help Willard, Kemp (NY) didn’t help Dole, Agnew (MD) didn’t help Nixon (’68), Miller (NY) didn’t help Goldwater, Lodge (MA) didn’t help Nixon (’60) as examples.
Nope. We need a Conservative. Sen. Cruz fits the bill and has a 100% rating from the ACU. It’s time to bury the hatchet and unite the primary voters.
Cruz—HELL Yes!
Same charge could be made against putting any former primary opponent on the ticket. Reagan picked the runner-up in 1980 and he got a landslide. On the Dem side, if Hillary were smart, she’d pick Bernie to secure the nutter vote that threatens to go to Trump, but she won’t.
I don’t see Newt being Chief of Staff. That job is a grind, and basically an appointment secretary for the president. It’s a younger man’s job. If anything a senior White House advisor, with no portfolio. No confirmation hearings, no administrative responsibility, just giving sound advice. Or Secretary of State.
Things are very different now. With the internet and DVRs and so on, all of those negative ads etc are at our fingertips. How many montage videos and others are on youtube? It is a different world from 1980. The dems will use the Lyin Ted moniker to their benefit. Why take the chance?
As I have said, Mr Trump has had a lot of experience in finding the best person for a job; I do not doubt he can do the same here. Not to say, he won’t find a place for Sen Cruz in his administration. I do not know if he will or won’t.
George H.W. Bush was a safe establishment choice with wide experience in foreign policy and national security. He was picked to reassure the party regulars, especially in light of Reagan's age. Nobody doubted he could step in as president. Cruz is the opposite of that in nearly every regard. And he's Canadian.
Lyin’ Ted is many things...but a Conservative he is not based on his actions and support of GOP-Establishment morons and their agenda.
ACU? LOL!!!!
Doesn’t matter who Trump picks, he’ll be attacked regardless. This is about uniting the party. That’s why I support Conservative Sen. Cruz. He could step into the Presidency effortlessly if something dreadful were to happen.
So, a 60% chance not. Haha, he’s playing the msm again.
