Matthew Sheffield brings up a really good point, and asks a great question.

Through May 3rd, 2016:

2016: Donald Trump won 40.4% of vote, everyone else 59.6% 2012: Mitt Romney won 37.5%, everyone else 62.5% More people voted against Mitt Romney in ’12, than have voted against Donald Trump in 2016 –Data Here– So why wasn’t there a #NeverRomney movement?

Back then, some people were buying into Romney as the "lesser of two evils". Now we know Romney and his disgusting cabal of traitors had every intention of letting fellow globalist Obama win.

Now they're enabling a hillary victory. Many Sanders supporters, logically, will jump on the Trump Train!

GOPe is running the NeverTrump movement. 2012 they had their boy Romney, so no NeverRomney movement needed.

Unfortunately, the electorate had an unorganized but highly effective NeverRomney movement and gave us 4 more years of Obama.

Only Palin and Trump tried to fight back against Obama during his term. Palin against Obamacare. Trump against Obama’s birthplace

I was looking vote totals over in Wisconsin a while back and noticed that Donald Trump won more votes in the 2016 Wisconsin Republican primary than Mitt Romney did in 2012 but still managed to lose somehow.

And Trump has received more voting for him than Mitt Romney received. Indeed, Trump will break the all time record for votes for later this year! Very clear ringing of the bell of freedom!

“More Republicans Voted Against Mitt Romney in 2012 ...” for whom we thank the goodness that is Obama and thank the principled stand those courageous Republicans took which has nearly destroyed what was left of the USA. And are likely to do it once again.

but there was...

right here in FR

unfortunately many of the same here who claim Trump is not “conservative” enough for their self-righteous cottin pickin little minds, had no trouble voting for the full blown life time liberal Romney and condemning those of us who refused to...

but hey we’re suppose to forget 2012...

Romney comparisons are not helpful. The guy lost an election that should have been a gimme.

Never Hillary!

Hell - since Trump has garnered more votes than Romney and any of the other repub candidates in several elections, more people have voted against everyone else than have voted against trump.....

So why wasn’t there a #NeverRomney movement?

There was. It was just under the radar, a stealth operation of people who stayed home in November. It is why el Presidente got to occupy the Oval Office for eight years rather than four: remember, Obama got fewer votes in 2012 than on 2008, but Romney got even fewer votes in 2012 than Palin and her running mate did in 2008.

Romney should not run and I don’t think he will. Having said that I think it serves Trump right that Romney is supposedly thinking about it. Trump toyed with an independent run. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Maybe now the Trump supporters will see why you don’t do that. It takes more to be a Republican than just to say you are.

The voters got it right! Romney refusing to go after Obama about Benghazi had a lot of folks wondering what his agenda was. Now we know.

Only a pawn in their game

Trump toyed with an independent run.

The difference being that Trump thought about it last year and now, 6 months before the general, there is a "movement" by the establishment to go third party? And you call that the same thing? You are a bitter fool.

I voted straight R ticket since 1976. I only voted for McCain because I thought he might resign for being senile and Palin could take over.

I did not vote for Romney. Since he was elected as governor to the most liberal state of all 57, since he gave us the first state to legalize fag marriage and gave us socialized medicine I thought no way. I will not vote for a liberal.

I was constantly told I must vote for him to avoid hussein. I don’t see any difference between them.

Romney didn’t work hard enough to win against Obama. He never spoke out against Obama in last 4 years. Now he is against Trump? Who is this guy? At least Trump is out there busting his behind to win and keep the country from electing a liar and cheat.
