Trump's wall might be obsolete before it's built

No sooner will the next president be inaugurated than the observance of the 100th anniversary of the U.S. entry into World War I will take place. It will also be the anniversary of the publication of the secret Zimmerman Telegram that helped push Congress and President Woodrow Wilson to declare war on Germany on April 6, 1917.

Not many people today know much, or even care, about the Zimmerman Telegram and how it changed the course of American history. World War I is probably not even mentioned in high school these days.

Indeed, most important issues in American history are not really covered except via approved memes. The better to condition the students to accept the absolute slavery that awaits in their future.

Peter Lucas provides a wonderful history lesson, then completely fails to support his headline.

It's not just a wall, it's mass deportation too.

The wall will not be obsolete, even with 11 million Mexicans illegally north of the wall when it’s built. The key is to send those criminals back home. At that point, the wall will be well worth having.

The Wall is evidence of The Will to defend the nation’s sovereignty. There’s been no evidence of it for decades.

It was extremely unlikely that Mexico would have gone along with any far-fetched plan to invade the United States,

Mexico decided that it would be much safer and more efficient to invade the United States without firing a shot. The Reconquista of the American southwest is happening, not with Mexican guns, but with Mexican feet and Mexican children (not to mention plenty of bipartisan help from our politicians).

None of my US history classes ever got to WWI and II. At most it was founding to civil war and then gloss over FDR and his perceived greatness. Then finals and class over.

Simple solution to the problem. If the Mexico collapsed and a massive invasion of our border was a result, the President could mobilize the military to the southern border while the wall is being built. All persons crossing outside of the controlled border checkpoints would be considered enemy combatants.

Walls are apolitical and work 7x24x365. We want that wall, we need that wall.

All the anti-wallers I have a question: If it isn't going to work then why oppose it? Just let is get built. Who cares?

My pro stance on a wall should not be confused with not supporting mine fields, MG emplacements and well placed claymores.

Mexico has effectively purged itself of most of its least productive and most troublesome population.

Very smart move on their part. But they never counted on someone like Trump coming along.

Everything prior to the Civil War has certainly been purged. Anything that does not support the narrative that America is an EEEEEEVIL Racist Capitalist Patriarchy that was founded by scheming televangelists and the Ku Klux Klan.

Imagine the amount of security needed for the workers and supplies while the wall is being built. What’s happening now wont even compare to the reality of the wall actually underway.

My high school history teacher covered WWII like this, word for word: “From 1939-1945 there was a war. We won.” I don’t remember what he said about WWI, if anything.

Exactly. Mexico's infrastructure and economy can't support its population, so it's a centerpiece of Mexican foreign policy to dump as much of its surplus here. If there's a downtick in poverty and crime in Mexico, it's because they've dumped a lot of it on us, with our elected officials' blessing.

The same method of invasion and takeover is being perpetrated by Islam, in all current cases with the encouragement of the host nations. Liberalism in action (and liberalism is practiced by the GOPe too, see open borders and "religion of peace") is suicide of Western Civilization.

Truth worth repeating.

So the author thinks walls are obsolete?

That “wall” on the 38th Parallel seems to be still doing fine 60+ years later.

Really. It won't work with just one wall. I've seen videos of "undocumented immigrants" thwarting the fence in places where they actually have one. They scramble over the wall like monkeys.

They need TWO walls with a "no man's land" corridor between them, monitored by camera, patrolled by mounted border guards and free-roaming guard dogs. Getting over the first wall would probably be as easy as it is right now.

Getting over the second fence, not so much... they could even have a one way door in the first wall where they could gently escort border jumpers back into Mexico without all the bureaucratic red tape.
