Trump's wall might be obsolete before it's built

No sooner will the next president be inaugurated than the observance of the 100th anniversary of the U.S. entry into World War I will take place. It will also be the anniversary of the publication of the secret Zimmerman Telegram that helped push Congress and President Woodrow Wilson to declare war on Germany on April 6, 1917.

Not many people today know much, or even care, about the Zimmerman Telegram and how it changed the course of American history. World War I is probably not even mentioned in high school these days.

You can assimilate them and make them learn English if the invasion is stopped and reversed.

And what happens if they don't want to be assimilated? Moreover, they vote Dem more than two to one. We are importing hundreds of thousands of future Dem voters every year. We don't need 1.1 million legal immigrants a year. Legal immigration needs to be reduced back to historic levels, i.e., 200,000 a year. We are being colonized by the Third World.

In addition to that, the ones here on work Visas or overstaying their legal stays here can be sent home.

You are mixing apples and oranges. We bring in 640,000 guest workers annually on work visas. They are legal just like the 900,000 here on student visas at any one time. Those who overstay their visas (40% of the illegal alien population) should be deported. It is the law. Of course our revolving door at the border allows many to reenter time and again. If you reenter, it is a felony, but nothing is really done.

Add to that, if they commit crimes, can't they have their immigrant status revoked?

Yes, that is also the law. We are just not enforcing it. Immigrants are also supposed to be self-supporting, but they get here and go on welfare within the first five years. Immigrants use the welfare system to a far greater degree than the native born. We are importing poverty.

there is no point in fumigating the crawl space until all the entry holes are fixed

Deport them all. Legal, illegal, Hispanic, Asian, everyone. Then build a 25 foot titanium wall.

No, but you can make English America's official language, end "bilingual" (Spanish only in reality) programs in schools, stop sponsoring "Chicano studies" programs at State Universities that promote the La Raza mindset, and make it more difficult for those here legally to bring their extended families over. If you do this, those that want to assimilate will stay, the others may be motivated to self-deport.

And exactly who is going to do that? The Dems are against it along with the GOPe. There really isn't bilingual education in schools. We have ESOL courses that are supposed to help the students learn English, but the actual courses in various subjects are in English.

It is LEGAL IMMIGRATION that is the real problem. We have brought in over 35 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS since 1990, which is almost the equivalent of the current population of Canada. We have just had the two largest decades of legal immigration in our history,

Some hack at a third-rate, small town newspaper would like you to think so, anyway.

Over 10 years ago, my daughter was told she could not put something pro America on her locker at middle school, yet another kid had a La Raza poster they refused to make him remove. And at a school football game, a kid wore a Tshirt that said “You can’t deport us all”, though the school had restrictions on what students could wear at school functions.

This SHOULD be a huge issue for women!!! This is happening EVERYWHERE American children in school CAN NOT wear a T with a flag on it it MIGHT OFFEND someone, ladies and gentlemen WE HAVE to take our country back!!!! The DEMS WILL pull on everyone’s heart strings about families being SPLIT up, what illegal parents would leave their kids on this side of the boarder??? The problem here ladies and gentlemen is once they are over this border it takes 6 years to deport anyone, they call all friends at home and tell them come on over, by the time their hearing comes 5-6 years later they DON’T show up!!! Expired visas is another HUGE problem !!! Most of us ALREADY in CA. and AZ. DON’T feel like we are living in AMERICA VERY SOON the rest of the country will be feeling the same!!!

You miss my point. I'm TOTALLY for removing all of the invaders and using EVerify, the wall, and all means necessary to stop and reverse the invasion of the US. I'm speaking about ways that some of the legal ones can lose that status, as a way to cut into that population, too.

I do believe there can be a degree of assimilation if the ones who are legal and give no reason to have that revoked have to learn English, have jobs, collect NO government handouts, and be preparing to qualify as citizens in a limited time frame....or go home.

I am 100% in favor of the wall; but that can’t be the be-all, end-all of our policies. Without deportation and taxation, the wall will be useless. Remember what George Patton said:

“Fixed fortifications are a monument to the stupidity of man. Anything built by man, can be destroyed by him.”

If Mexico’s economy fails, too bad. Maybe they will finally elect someone who root out the corruption and drugs, which is why their economy is so bad.

It was more than “mentioned” in my H.S. history classes, as my history teacher was a W.W.1 vet.

We need to reduce legal permanent immigration as a major first step. The status quo will guarantee the Dems as the permanent majority party. We can enforce our laws to remove even legal immigrants, but that should not be a main focus. It is really counterproductive politically to do so. Demography is destiny.

I do believe there can be a degree of assimilation if the ones who are legal and give no reason to have that revoked have to learn English, have jobs, collect NO government handouts, and be preparing to qualify as citizens in a limited time frame....or go home

Assimilation is possible if you reduce the numbers. It is very difficult toi "revoke" legal citizenship or presence. You can't deport someone for not learning English if they are a green card holder or a naturalized citizen.

Again, we need to reduce the annual intake of legal immigrants. Otherwise, this country is finished as we know it. In fact, it may not be possible given how far we have evolved as a nation. 87% of the 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants who enter annually are minorities as defined by the USG. Immigrants and minorities vote more than two to one Dem. By 2019, half of the children 18 and under will be minorities and by 2043 non-Hispanic whites will be at 50% of the population declining to 43% by 2060. We will lose this country thru the ballot box.

Eight years ago, two of my kids entered third grade at a new school, it was for grades three through five. “Prize Winning” student art work was prominently displayed all down one hallway. Among them was a poster of a cross with Jesus on it and underneath it, it said, “Remember - W.W.J.D.”

It’s still hanging there to this day. It is not a private school.
