Newt Gingrich Rips Paul Ryan for Trump Non-Endorsement
Breitbart ^ | 5/5/16 | Breitbart

Posted on 05/06/2016 6:30:54 AM PDT by Zenjitsuman

“[I]n the case of Paul Ryan he made a big mistake today and he needs to understand this,” Gingrich said. “He is the Speaker of the House. He has an obligation to unify the party. He has an obligation to reach out. Obviously he and Donald Trump are going to have disagreements. Some of them will work out and some of them they won’t. That’s fine. Our constitution provides that speakers and presidents can fight, but I think he sends the wrong signal and a signal which I think endangers the House Republicans and endangers the Senate Republicans.”

“Southern Democrats control not a single governorship, US senator or legislative chamber, “

Newt Gingrich for white house chief of staff! /i>

I agree! I love the way he explains things. He'd even be a great press secretary, although that would be a waste of his talent.

GMTA! I said the same thing, almost verbatim, 12 hours later, without reading your comment.

I just listened to the Hannity interview from last night and Newt is spot on!

No I think the chief of staff is right. Trump will need someone that knows the mechanics of Government. Newt knows that and he is also relentless. There are things i do not like about Newt. But i think he understands clearly what the political climate is and he is tacking fully into the wind.
They may be a deadly combination.

In 2012 I went to one Presidential rally..... Newts. I like him but Newt never brought up trade and immigration. It took The Donald to place these two front and center.

The Trump optics are fine right now.

Yes, Trump is well positioned, but his likely opponent is going to play the woman card for all it is worth. On top of that, the left is cranking up the war on women and Trump is not right for women meme.

A female VP blunts that. Just my .02. It’s Trump so I am sure he has his own ideas about who he will choose.

Trump is pulling too many union votes to select Walker as his VP. He is poised to get more union support than any GOP candidate in decades.

Why would he select a lightning rod for unions as VP?

That would be a great, unifying choice for the Conservative tribe.

I’ve heard Ryan’s challenger on radio. He is quite impressive. Wisconsin voters may realize they need to catch up with the rest of the country. I sure hope so.

I think Newt might be the best alternative that Trump has for VP. Most other possibilities won’t do it. Rick Scott took himself out of the running. Newt would at least help Trump with conservatives. He won’t help him in Florida or Ohio or any other swing state. He might help him in Georgia but if Georgia is in play then Trump is doomed.

You still don't get it, do you?

Donald Trump is going to take all of the swing states, and then some.

There's no stopping him.

Hillary has no chance, and neither do the Dems or the GOPe.

The People (quite enough of them) are going to be behind Trump, and the Revolution will succeed...

And that'll be a good thing, because a huge component of the Revolution will simply be a restoration of Constitutional principles, and from that will flow so many other positive things: fiscal responsibility, cutting the size and scope of the federal government, introducing accountability and justice for those who abuse power, etc.

It's the best chance we've had for real progress since Reagan, maybe longer...

The revolution is ON!

Vote Trump!

I agree that Newt is a great choice for Conservatives, and his knowledge of congressional procedures would be a great help. That being said, I believe that the choice of a retired/obama fired general (Petraeus? there are MANY) would possibly be an even better, more useful choice.

I wish I had lived during a period when adultery was considered disqualifying for positions of authority.

Thomas Jefferson, among others, was an adulterer.

All have sinned.

For the record I will vote for Trump although his fifth grade level of reasoning and vocabulary is still going to be hard to listen too.

You're seriously misunderestimating Donald Trump.

"Fifth grade level of reasoning?"

That's just disingenuous slander.

You're still too bitter about something to bother paying attention, apparently.

I think you’re letting your imagination run away with you. The polls don’t say that. I realize you don’t give a hoot what the polls say but what evidence do you have for your assertion? Trump lost pretty convincingly to Kasich in Ohio for example. He couldn’t even get Republicans to vote for him there. I’m in Florida and I’m telling you it will be tough for Trump even there. Florida is at best purple and turning bluer by the day. Obama won here twice and its considerably bluer than it was in the last election.

I should add a caveat-—that list was made a long time ago.

Things change a little.

So you feel the need to slander Thomas Jefferson for what purpose?
The irony is so rich.
Jeffersons life and character does not lend itself to that type of behavior.
Maybe that type of behavior is acceptable or common for you.

Trump wrote about his adulter, bragged about his adultery and even displayed how perverted his way of thinking is by stating his daughter was so good looking if she wasn’t his daughter he would be dating her.

Slander Jefferson to make Trump look better.
Pathetic.

I stated I would be voting for Trump. I meant it.

This Trump worship on display is no different than Obama voters treating him as divine.

By the way my stating he has a fifth grade level of reasoning is not slander. It is an observation which lead to an opinion.

I can however see through the smoke and mirrors that you wanted to imply that identifying him as a adulter is slanderous but since you know he has talked very openly and even bragged about it that out right wouldn’t work.

Obama is an anti- colonial, black liberation theology, Muslim sympathizing ideologue set out to damage the USA as much as possible.

Hillary, we all know what she is.

Trump is an Amicacan loving man but his biggest flaw I can see is he is often controlled by his lusts. I hope that he rises above.

Unlike those who worship at the cult of personality I see Trump as he is not through rose colored glasses.

Once again I will be voting Trump.

Nice try.

This Trump worship on display is no different than Obama voters treating him as divine.

There's no worship going on, just supporting the nominee, who has great potential to breakup the corrupt Washington DC status quo.

I didn't make Thomas Jefferson an adulterer; Thomas Jefferson did that himself. So it's hardly slander. Jefferson was a slave owner as well. More slander, I guess...

Obviously JFK was an adulterer, and I'm sure there were many other Presidents who have been unfaithful to their wives.

Last time I checked, not ONE of the former US Presidents was perfect.

God used King David, who was both an adulterer and a murderer, and Solomon, who likes the ladies as well.

So if you're looking for a perfect President, good luck.

God uses many imperfect instruments to do his will.

Sorry you still want to belly-ache about the GOP nominee, but now's not the time for that.
