Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor admitted Tuesday that he underestimated Donald Trump as a presidential candidate. I was predicting way back when that Donald Trump had no chance. I think many of us were, Cantor said on Tuesday in an interview with CNBC. Ive stopped the business of predicting.

Yeah, he’s done. Kasich will be soon, too. He’s just stupider than Cruz.
I had a Twitter bet a year ago that neither Cankles nor Yeb would be the nominee. So I can’t lose. It might be a tie.
Who is Eric Cantor, oh, he’s the guy who was one of the first elected officials to get hit between the eyes by people who are sick of the GOPe, and HE doesn’t get it still?
GOP establishment moves from ‘Never Trump’ to just ‘Trump’

Never Trump is turning out to be not so never after all.
As Donald Trump trounced Ted Cruz in Indiana and cemented a path to the Republican nomination, some members of the GOP establishment announced that theyd back the billionaire either now or in the general election.
Ed Rollins, who managed Ronald Reagans 1984 re-election campaign, recently joined a pro-Trump super PAC. Former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who lambasted Trump during his own run for the presidency, said Tuesday he would support Trump if hes the nominee. Toby Neugebauer, a major Cruz donor, recently said he, too, would support Trump if he is nominated and declared the so-called Never Trump forces disgusting.
Im not ready to roll over and play dead and allow Hillary Clinton to be president, Rollins said.
If he is the nominee I will be voting for him, I will be supporting him, Jindal said, joining other former Trump rivals who, with varying degrees of enthusiasm, have been lining behind the man who has taken the party by storm.
Ari Fleischer, a former press secretary to President George W. Bush, tweeted: “There’s a lot about Donald Trump that I don’t like, but I’ll vote for Trump over Hillary any day.”
They are joining establishment figures who have said all along that they are willing to support Trump.
House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have said they will support the partys nominee, as have other leaders in Congress.
I went all in in September!
=======================================
STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE Then-Repub Majority Leader, Eric Cantor (Va), was considered untouchable and inevitable.
<><> Cantor had tons of money---spent 26X times his opponent's $100K.
<><> Cantor consistently polled an astounding 34 points ahead of his unknown opponent.
<><> Cantor was considered "inevitable" and "untouchable".
<><> Cantor had no ethics problems (that we know of).
<><> Cantor sucked-up to an anti-tea party group.
<><> Cantor sucked up to the latino vote.
<><> Cantor showboated his leadership---was deeply into (gag) "diversity."
=============================================
BY CONTRAST HIS OPPONENT Brat:
<><> ran as Cantor's TERM LIMIT
<><> Brat roundly opposed, and was vociferous against amnesty.
<><> Brat ran as a staunch conservative (now in Congress he has a 100% conservative rating.)
<><> On elections day, Brat got 18,000 more Repub out to the polls than the previous election that elected Cantor.
================================================
CANTOR IN DEFEAT----DUMBFOUNDED:
THE KICKER Cantor spent millions on ads detailing Brat's positions
that he considered offensive. Trouble was voters liked what they heard,
and came out in droves for Brat.
I’ve told friends since the beginning of this that Trump was a shoe-in, and many of them didn’t see the writing on the wall. And just like Cantor, they will still consider themselves visionaries by tomorrow.
The world is full of modest people who have nothing to be modest about.
The middle class has spoken.
Take a hike, Eric.
“Ive stopped the business of predicting.” Shitty predictor if he couldnt see his own political demise in the primary.
RIP GOPe.
That’s the nicest thing I can think to say.
Anyone who takes political advice from Pseudo dem Cantor is a moron. That's why he's "former" Rep Cantor.
Eric Cantor??? Really?? Who would ask him anything? or care?
You’re just a nice person.
Eric WHO?
CAN YOU HEAR US NOW, GOPE!????
Underestimated Trump? Foolish - he is and always has been a salesman. What I underestimated was the stupidity of the bulk of Republican voters, especially the supposed “Conservative Christian/Evangelicals” who voted massively for a candidate that represents the opposite of pretty much every value they claim to hold. Think about it, These so-callec “Christians” voted for a candidate who:
Owns/runs Casinos
Owns Strip Clubs
A man who has mocked God and Christianity (he has never seen a need for forgiveness from God).
A man who has repeatedly attacked the “freedom of speech” concept.
A man who has voiced opposition to the 2nd Amendment (his rhetoric died when he signed on to be a candidate).
A man who praises “all the good stuff Planned Parenthood does”.
A man who is on record (even recently) of supporting abortion in many cases.
A man who has promoted lies on a scale not even met by Obama
A man who proudly boasts of buying politicians (as in - he is the poster child for the very thing voters are supposedly angry about - corruption and cronyism).
That is the second time, at least, he has underestimated.
Oh yes - the “anger”... so much so that the same “angry” voters chose a man who has made a fortune from that corrupt system they are supposedly angry at... a man who has funded that system. A man who is at the center of that which they are angry about... make so much sense... (not).
And Trump himself spewed more lies per sentence than 2008 Candidate Obama.
Oh yes... voters so angry that they forgot what they were angry bout and just voted for the candidate who sound the most angry..
Eric must be using the same pollster that predicted his last campaign.....
At least he is saying optimistic things about Trump chances of beating Hillary.
“He underestimated the American people.”
Exactly!!! Even now, he still has zero regard for us. In his eyes, we are just pawns to be manipulated and whomever is best at manipulation is the winner. In his eyes, Donald couldn’t possibly love this country and genuinely want to Make America Great Again. Eric, and all the rest of the Uniparty filth in DC firmly believe that it’s all about lies and manipulation.
