The Washington Post published an article listing five candidates likely to be considered to be Trump's vice president. U.S. Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa is on that list.
Ernst is Iowa's first female U.S. Senator. Ernst was not well known When she ran for the senate seat vacated by the retiring Tom Harkin.
KWWL-TV caught up with Ernst and asked if she would consider serving as Donald Trump's vice president. "I would say, 'did my mother pay you to say that?', Ernst said. "But, no. I would have to consider it, but I love what I do in the United States Senate, and I love working with Iowans."
Ernst says she hasn't heard from the Trump campaign. She says she won't endorse a candidate anytime soon.

Exactly. And TRUMP should choose his running mate. Frankly, I would like to see someone OUTSIDE of the Political loop, but know it will have to be a politician. Let’s just make it a CLEAN politician and NOT a globalist, or feminist, or hispanic, or any other person selected for their ethnic or cultural differences. And let’s not eliminate the best man for the job because he happens to be white, or “old.”
Bad idea for Trump to pick a woman for a couple reasons:
1. Cruz has selected a women for his pretend administration. (I expect that after he loses California, he and Snarly will hold their inaugural ball.) It would make it look like Cruz had a good idea before he did. To quote Trump, “That’s not gonna happen... not gonna happen.”
2. We want the best PERSON for VP, not a frickin’ token woman. Enough already with the political correctness!
Duncan Hunter.
I don’t disagree with your assessments but I don’t want to see good people taken out the congresses that needs their leadership abilities. There are plenty of good people across the country to fill the administrative jobs for Trump. The only criteria I would be looking for is that the person is strong willed, independent thinker who hasn’t any fear of the media or the political establishment but is able to be a team player in a Trump administration. The right chemistry is essential. We don’t need any more Colin Powells, for example.
Or female?
“Michele Bachmann!!”
Best to do some research on that. IIRC, she’s been connected to the Dominionism cult, or one that’s “in bed with” Dominionism. Google the words: dominionism bachmann perry romney. You’ll get some interesting hits.
These 5 picks were simply made up by a WaPo writer based on his own opinion.
1. Christie
2. Scott
3. Ernst
4. Kasich
5. Rubio
I still think the best pick is Santorum. Trump needs to shore up the Christian conservative base, and he definitely needs advice on what those constituents want to hear after his abortion/bathroom gaffes. Santorum has swing state voter appeal for PA/Ohio. He has heavy campaign experience both in the PA Senate and two Presidential primary runs, so he isn’t a newbie open to reporter ambushes. His immigration/trade message is as similar to Trump’s as almost any other potential pick. He is a “safe” pick in that he won’t have the effect of upstaging Trump on the campaign trail. He will clearly be a secondary figure to Trump in the media narrative which lets Trump stay in control of the message.
bttt
She sure did. Question - how many hours does it take to become bought out when arriving in D.C.?

Duncan is the Man for the job.
That is how I read it too.
IA took lots of sweat and blood to win a GOP Senate seat.
Lets not have to do that again for awhile.
What votes did Cheney bring for Bush?
Wyoming’s whopping 3 EV.
Think Mia Love would be a good pick. She’d take the race and the woman card off the table.
That is why I am so proud of my Congressman Dave Brat.
He has resisted the firehoses of Potomac water that have been aimed at him since we Cantorized our weasel, Eric Cantor.
It takes strong character to stand up to the entrenched corruption in the District of Corruption.
This is called a free press. Obviously he’ll eventually make the choice but he, supporters and basically all citizens should able to stand a bit of press speculation.
Egyptian, Indonesian, or Kenyan?
Yes, and he won the election by the narrowest of margins, and Cheney became a liability.
Cheney was a bad choice for several reasons.
But he’s absolutely not the man to win the election to get the job.
Two completely separate issues.
Cheney was criticized by the left. There was very little criticism from the right. So that’s not a bad choice in my book. Especially when that choice got him reelected with the only time the GOP won the popular vote in the last 25 years. Bush needed someone with obvious brains to balance him out and he got it with Cheney.
