AND NOW... amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke... it is time for... that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-The-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and hes not retiring until every American agrees with him - do NOT doubt him - with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (thats Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! Americas anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A real man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do host. Get ready to what you were born to do listen. And post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread.
Paul's caucus performance in Maine didn't entitle him to 20 delegates. In other words, the number of delegates loyal to Paul was disportionally high, compared with his caucus performance. Maine doesn't have "unpleged" delegates for the first ballot.
-- People mention Paul, but no one has provided links that describe precisely how he used the rules to claim delegates. --
I don't recall that level of detail being provided for Cruz either. The complaint arises simply on the disproportionate allocation of "loyalty" after the first ballot.
At the Oregon Republican convention, Ron Paul supporters ran as delegates pledged to Romney or Santorum. The Ron Paul Disenfranchisement -Under this Trojan-horse guise, 8 of 10 delegates elected were actually Ron Paul Supporters when he only won three delegates in the state primary.
This is happening all over the country. The Paul campaign estimates they'll have 500 delegates, four times as many as he actually won.
If he's doing such a great job of masking his support for Cruz, how can you say he's 100% for Cruz? There's no pretense.
You're THAT mkjessup? :)
Just messin' with ya!
Ron Paul even won Iowa.
Santorum or Romney won the vote. Months later Iowa delegates were elected, and Ron Paul came first.
No one would know, since I never used my actual name on the radio, had a radio nom de plume like most ‘personalities’, i.e., the late Wolfman Jack was actually ‘Bob Smith’ and my good friend the ‘Greaseman’ (formerly of DC101 in Washington) is actually a great guy named Doug Tracht (I feel comfortable mentioning this as his actual name is now public knowledge).
Limbaugh is still not recognizing him, calling him a "Trumpist."
-PJ
I agree, many of us did not realize that, until more recently.
You might be able to take over the Limbaugh Show soon......
LMAO!
Limbaugh mockingly refers to the esteemed Professor Robinson as a "Trumpist."
-PJ
It's been written about often. Trumps win some number of delegates during a primary vote, then a state convention is held in some states to actually elect all the delegates won by whatever candidates.
Cruz supporters come into the state convention and find Double Agent delegates to help elect as Trump delegates, DAs who will not be loyal to Trump beyond the first ballot. They do this with the help a many anti-Trump state and local Republicans.
How much do you want to read. The first article (SC) at the top of the page tells what's going on.
-- How much do you want to read. --
Not any more on this subject, beyond what I bump into in other research, thanks.
“Nearly every comment out of Cruz’s mouth begins with ‘Donald said this’ or ‘Donald said that’ or ‘Donald is ...’ “
Crooze reminds me of my little granddaughter and grandson. “Andy did this. Andy said that. Andy looked at me funny. Andy hit me, etc.”
It's a collusion between Cruz folks at state conventions with state and local Republicans who oppose Trump. The SC story makes that clear. All delegates are selected at some of these state conventions, even the ones won by a candidate during primary votes.
I'm also very tired of this subject, and maybe enough voters will be outraged to bring about changes in many of these states where the rules allow such maneuvering. '
Thanks for clarification. I’m glad I’m on the right page with you!
Just about anything can be learned and mastered with practise and determination. I suspect you would be a lot better at it than you think, judging by your responses on FR.
You remember Dornan accurately.
You sure called it. First damn thing out of his mouth.
Wolfman Jack was a one of a kind, they truly broke the mold.
Full name was ‘Robert Weston Smith’, and he was known as the ultimate master of timing when it came to radio, as in ‘talking it to the post’ (meaning talking over the introductory instrumental portion as a song began and knowing when to stop JUST before the vocals started, likewise timing the ending of a song coming up on the top of the hour when the legal station identification + network news would intrude for a few minutes), I did not know the Wolfman although I was lucky enough to get through on his request line at WNBC in New York one night, I was listening to him on my Dad’s short wave in our basement just outside Washington D.C., picking him up on ‘AM skip’, and when I actually heard him answer the phone I said “oh my God, it’s you!” and he starts laughing and says “who were you expectin’, the Good Humor Man?” And we obviously were not ‘live’ on the air, and he says “who are ya, and what do ya wanna do with yourself?”
And like any teenager already hooked on radio I said “I want to do radio” and he said “it’s a tough way to go, and it takes a lot of years, but if you want it bad enough, stay with it and don’t take ‘no’ from nobody and you’ll make it!”
Some would say that was simplistic but it was also good advice and it did take a lot of years before I found myself on the air, but it was well worth it.
Like many of his fans, I wept when I heard of his death on July 1, 1995, he had literally walked in the front door of his home, a farm he owned in Belvidere North Carolina, embraced his wife Lou after having been on the road for a book tour, and collapsed, dying of a heart attack right there in her arms.
Right to the end, a master of timing.
