“In cringe-worthy moment, GOP hopeful says ‘blood of the lamb above the lampposts’ was Christ’s, as he’s known as ‘the lamb of God’”

Time to get a ruling from the good people at the Book of Making Shit Up As You Go Along to see if this tops the all time list.

Kasich is correct about the way Christians put that story together as we tie the Old Testament to the New Testament.

We do view the blood of the Passover Lamb as a preshadowing of the blood of Christ.

This is not a new thought. It is millennia old, all the way back to the Apostles.

The Apostle Paul said: “1 Corinthians 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.”

If Donald Trump has botched something like that up that bad, the media would go into instant feeding frenzy.

Maybe he meant Lamb Posts?

I’m not theologist, but the lamb’s blood represented the sacrifice that saved the Hebrews, and it is Christ’s blood that saved me. Plus, I don’t need to go sacrifice any animals. So there’s that.

He'd flunk the Old Testament class I teach to 6th graders at my parish, been doing it for 15+ years.

Last night we did our prep for the Seder Meal we're having next week. A few years back, I had to fill in the first 20 minutes, because the guest speaker was stuck in traffic. That was a bit intimidating, because he does it so well.

BTW, I didn't know they had lampposts back then...

A friend of mine up in New Hampshire said that Kasich is a moron...and I didn’t believe him.

Now I do.

I suppose that, if one is Christian, it is just fine to believe that (I will leave that up to Christian theologians to decide). But to even say “Jesus C.....” in a religious Jewish community is insulting (because it specifically states that the Messiah has come already, and the Jews are wrong), let alone saying that part of the Jewish Bible foretold his arrival 2,000 years ago. Again, he can believe what he wants - that’s anyone’s right - but you have to be a moron if you’re seeking votes in a religious community while telling them that they have it all wrong.

One Sunday our preacher gave a sermon on Old Testament precursors pointing to Jesus. It really was surprising how many there are.

One which stuck in my mind was Jonah and his 3 days in the fish.

I regularly make mental mistakes when I am just talking. Sometime I catch it but often I don’t. I can recall someone telling me and my thinking to myself. Did I really say that?

It is something most people do.

Of course speaking to a group who are still looking forward to their Messiah, it may have been the wrong place.
