John Kasich to Orthodox Jews: Abraham, not Moses, the star of the Torah
Jewish Telegraphic Agency ^ | April 13, 2016 5:19pm

John Kasich bantered with Haredi Orthodox Jews about which biblical figure was most significant and other lessons from the Jewish Bible. […]

“The story of the people are Abraham and God made a covenant with Abraham — not Moses!” Kasich told Ezra Friedlander, a Haredi lobbyist who was escorting Kasich through the heavily Haredi neighborhood.

Friedlander had tried to explain that for Jews, Moses is considered the most important biblical figure, and more important than the patriarchs, because he brought the law to the Jews.

“Moses is up there,” Friedlander said, as Kasich, an Anglican who was born Roman Catholic, examined shelves of Jewish texts. …

It was friendly and respectful. There is video.

Saw it. It was neither.

Some people have neither manners or class.

So when the Lord Jesus said to the Canaanite woman:

“.. I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”,...

..He was not referring to the entire 12 tribes?

Are you using the name of Israel as two nations: one Judah, and the other (so called ‘lost’) tribes, in order to achieve you opinion?

Many probably continued to be slaves. But instead of serving their Assyrian masters, many probably had to serve Babylonian masters, and then the Media-Persian masters.

For what it’s worth, in the summer of 07, I was hiking in the Rockies, and was passed up by a couple of young Jewish looking fellows. They were wearing the skull cap things. I asked them what tribe they were from. They said, “Ephraim”.

Abraham had 2 sons. One named Issac and the other named Ishmael. Issac was was born to Abraham’s wife Ruth. Ishmael was born from a handmaiden who agreed to help Abraham achieve a son since his wife was not able to conceive. Finally his wife did conceive and gave birth to Issac after Ishmael was born. The Israelite’s come from the lineage of Issac and the Muslims come from the Lineage of Ishmael. Both religions come for the same Patriarchial Father. Christianity is the new and improved Jewish religion. And that’s where all the never ending hatred comes from!

It was some 200 years later that King Neb took the House of Judah to Babylon. There is NO way those ten tribes went to Babylon... they headed up over the Caucasus Mountains ... hence the word caucasian.

Well yes if we want to be technical, Moses wasn’t a Jew(..or Judean thru Judah);he was a Hebrew of the tribe of Levi thru Jacob and Leah. Moses led the Hebrews of the nation of Isreal(or isrealites) thru the wilderness!

Of course He was referring to Israel in the broader sense. After all, the divided kingdoms of Israel and Judah were all descended from Jacob/Israel. Jesus referred to all of Abraham’s children, including both the dispersed tribes and the Jews who rejected him.

All Jews are Israelites, but not all Israelites are Jews.

In Romans 10 and 11, the apostle Paul paints a rather lovely portrait of love for the entire Israelite nation, including those of us Gentile believers who have been adopted in.

I have no opinion to achieve, just an old grandma’s knowledge of both the old and new testaments.

The phrase ‘lost sheep’ of the House of Israel is not including the House of Judah.. House of Judah was in and around Jerusalem when Christ walked this earth... Christ first instruction after He elected His disciples was for them to ‘go but to the lost sheep of the House of Israel... These disciples were of Judah and Benjamin...

IF you follow the ‘footsteps’ of Christianity you will follow the footsteps of the ‘lost tribes’ of the House of Israel. God promised it back in Genesis, as He also promised that those of the 10 tribes would not know who they are.

Chaldean from Ur in modern day Iraq is I think widely accepted as Abrahams origin

But I’ll let folks for whom this bloodline is coveted argue over it

I’m Celto Saxon.....way different tribes....the blood matters none to me for its exclusivity

What does matter to me is the lesson and prophecy Abraham and Moses illuminated for posterity and the providential role both played in ultimately bringing about the birth of the son of God

But trust me

On this forum it gets contentious real quick who makes best claim to the history and the DNA

You DO NOT have to be of the blood to receive the fruits

Are you referring to the fact that many muslims live in Israel? (A good example of poor immigration policy that is backfiring.) In that sense, they are indeed Israelis. Or are you referring to the descendants of Esau?

As far as the “Are you the King of the Jews?” question: it was asked by Pilate during Jesus’ trial. Pilate and the other accusers were thinking in purely political terms. Spiritually, “King of the Jews” is a reference to the Messiah, but that was far from their minds.

Surely you know this.

>> Of course, Islam is not an “Abrahamic” faith, it is a Satanic faith.

It’s a war plan. The Meccans were the first conquered.

You probably saw ‘Assyria’ and it registered as Syria. There’s several sites in ancient Assyria that are thought to be where Abram originated.

The ‘blessings’ follow the ‘bloodline’... Look what happened to Esau... he sold his birthright and God took his blessing... God had it written two times Jacob I love Esau I hated.
