Hillary Clinton and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio sparked controversy at an event on Saturday with a racially charged joke.
Clinton and de Blasio were joined onstage by Leslie Odom Jr. in costume as Aaron Burr, whom he plays in the hit Broadway musical Hamilton. Clinton thanked de Blasio for his endorsementwhich many pointed out came rather late in the gameand ribbed him, Took you long enough.
The mayor replied, Sorry, Hillary, I was running on C.P. time.
The abbreviation refers to the stereotype of Colored People time, and several people in the audience could be heard gasping or groaning. Odom, who is black and whom the New York Times suggests was in on the joke, rebuked him, saying, I dont like jokes like that, Bill.
Clinton dryly replied, Cautious politician time. Ive been there.
The exchange prompted pushback online, both from bloggers and social media users.

Radical Marxist pandering to radical Marxist. Nothing new.
I had never heard of C.P. Time.
It would be racist if it came from a conservative.
THOSE PEOPLE AINT GOT NO SENSE OF HUMOR!
This is why Trump has a shot at winning, something that the media and the pollsters have absolutely missed: The Dems are taking the Black vote for granted. Trump, OTOH, is stumping for it by concentrating on job creation and significantly slowing immigration (which brings in hundreds of thousands of competitors to those in the lowest socio-economic group, i.e. Blacks and poor Hispanics who came here legally).
Keep up the good work, witch!
A conservative probably wouldn’t even think of using that terminology for the concept. Maybe A.A. Time or something like that. C.P. is a Demoncrat concept.
never heard of it either.
There is so much PC that one cannot keep up with all of it now,.
The term “colored people” itself, if uttered by a con in any context to mean blacks, would spell the end of his career.
sort of beside the point, but I saw Odom in Hamilton. He was awesome.
Not the best of the cast, b/c some of the others are amazing (especially Lafayette/Jefferson, King George III, and George Washington)....but he was amazing, as is the entire show.
I guess you could say that CP is not PC.
Remember this? From Wiki:
David Howard incident
“On January 15, 1999, David Howard, an aide to Anthony A. Williams, the mayor of Washington, D.C., used “niggardly” in reference to a budget. This apparently upset one of his black colleagues (Howard is white), identified by Howard as Marshall Brown, who misinterpreted it as a racial slur and lodged a complaint. As a result, on January 25 Howard tendered his resignation, and Williams accepted it. However, after public pressure, an internal review into the matter was brought about, and the mayor offered Howard the chance to return to his position as Office of the Public Advocate on February 4. Howard refused but accepted another position with the mayor instead, insisting that he did not feel victimized by the incident. On the contrary, Howard felt that he had learned from the situation. “I used to think it would be great if we could all be colorblind; that’s naïve, especially for a white person, because a white person can’t afford to be colorblind. They don’t have to think about race every day. An African American does.”
How strange to cast a black man to play Aaron Burr.
Nothing to see here. All LIBs are racists and fascists. They want you dead sooner than later (after they steal your money for their lame-brained “programs” and work you to death). Pox on these degenerates.
They get a free pass. Nothing will happen to them. But if a Republican had said it, we would never hear the end of it.
I agree. Hollywood is good at it also. The movie wild wild west, Jim West was played by will smith. Nick fury from the comics played by Samuel L. Jackson and probably 1 or 2 others that escape me. I always though Bruce Willis woulda made a good John Shaft.
I’m not surprised Hillary would be on stage with “Aaron Burr”. They share so much in common, like killing Hamilton an other political opponents.
To say nothing about her being as charming as a tarantula.
I believe the entire cast is black; no whites need apply.
