I agree. Hollywood is good at it also. The movie wild wild west, Jim West was played by will smith. Nick fury from the comics played by Samuel L. Jackson and probably 1 or 2 others that escape me. I always though Bruce Willis woulda made a good John Shaft.

First I heard the term was in the movie "House Party" (1990) when Kid was in jail and was calling Play to come bail him out.

Play: "Just do me a favor. Don't pick up the soap."
