FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. -
It has been 66 years since Roy Henderson has been on American soil. We live in an unrecognizable United States to the one the private first class left, but he has never been forgotten. And he has finally been welcomed home to the Ohio Valley after going being killing in action, declared MIA in July of 1950.
"It's closure for the family, and not only for the family, but for the veterans who fight on a daily basis," said casualty assistance officer SFC Bradley Maston. "We want to see our brothers and sisters come back home and be where they belong."
Passengers crowded the small windows of the Delta flight coming in from Atlanta. It was the last leg of the Army veteran's long journey from Korea, Japan, Honolulu, then, back to the mainland United States. His final resting place, Follansbee, WV, where his body was met by dozens of volunteers and well wishers.

“It would seem unlikely that China would have invaded the US or even Russia. They both were going through internal turmoil at the time.”
We have a Socialist and a Communist running for President as Democrats, and we WON the cold war. Imagine if we had lost it. Korea, Vietnam, and a hundred other places/battles were all part of it. The Soviets were happy to destabilize the world even in places they couldn’t “win” at first, all the while keeping their eyes on the prize.
Okay, so when elderly parents are looking at a picture of their son/daughter and they say well I guess it was for the greater good
You didn’t even notice that this line of sophistry has been completely discredited?
This dishonest stratagem, introduced by America-hating leftards, tries to use grief for the dead to demoralize Americans in the face of clear and present danger.
If you want to sell that line of crap, you should probably go to one of our ruined Universities and target people who are without education or experience. You’re not going to get anywhere here.

Okay, well go sell that argument to a parent whose lost someone. Please explain to me what on earth are we still in Afghanistan for instance. Either the Taliban is killing our people or the Afghan army is. For what? I guess history about that country over the centuries is lost on whoever is new in office.
Welcome home Roy Henderson. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Welcome home, Troop... RIP, and God bless you and welome you Home.
And that cabal of leftists are still here, still subverting the country, and making Kruschev’s boast come true.
“...get their due...”
Not nearly soon enough, my friend. Not nearly soon enough.
It’s one of those things I’d rather see... so I know there IS some justice in the world.
“Its one of those things Id rather see... so I know there IS some justice in the world.”
Well, now THERE’S a proposition: how to SEE ultimate Justice meted out upon the wicked that their evil may meet with a Just punishment, yet not yourself be in such a state that the operation of that same Justice serves upon you their same punishment.
I suppose there may be no end to the argumentative artifices that humans may employ either for or against the several aspects of that question. Nonetheless, I have found that the Christian faith stands alone among all the systems of thought debated among men in offering sane, and satisfying answers to the proposition you articulated.
In Christianity is found a next life wherein Justice is administered perfectly and permanently.
In Christianity is found in that next life a Righteous Judge to be the perfect Administrator of Justice.
In Christianity is found The Way to be, ourselves, spared the punishment that perfect Justice demands: through faith in Jesus Christ Who, Himself, sufficiently nullified our debt by His own death wherein He willingly laid down His life on our behalf.
In Christianity is found the only Savior Who demonstrated His sufficiency to save us all from death by shattering the power of death, itself, in proof of which He took up His own life once again and rose from the dead.
In Christianity is found peace for this life knowing that all evils will be duly recompensed in the next.
In Christianity is found joy in this life knowing that in the next life all things shall be made new.
In Christianity is found grace for today enabling us to live holy before a holy God Who so yearned for our companionship that He laid aside His glory, and became a man subject to all the confines and limitations of human existence so as to forge salvation for our souls.
In Christianity is found hope for tomorrow knowing that in our faith in Jesus Christ we have obtained a Mercy that triumphs over judgement such that upon the administration of the perfect Justice that — at last — condemns forever all evil, we shall be found righteous, and so spared.
And so, finally, in Christianity — and ONLY in Christianity — is found true freedom forever.
A war well-fought among men may win freedom for men in this life for awhile, but only faith in the ultimate Victory of Jesus Christ is sufficient to gain a man True Freedom in the next life forever.
“Whoever The Son sets free is truly free.”
— Jesus Christ
“It is for freedom that Christ has set you free.”
— St. Paul
“Good post.”
Thank you.
Gotta get that out there from time to time so the next generation coming up can understand the “for what” for themselves. God knows they won’t learn it in public school these days; it sure ain’t part of Common Core.
Okay, well go sell that argument to a parent whose (sic) lost someone.
You act as though you have established the principal that parental grief has some bearing on the necessity for defending ourselves. You havent. Countries have to fight wars even though parents suffer grief.
Please explain to me what on earth are we still in Afghanistan for instance. Either the Taliban is killing our people or the Afghan army is. For what?
Generally speaking, opposing evil is the right thing to do. Which is what we *were* doing in Afghanistan until the Negro from Nairobi was hustled into the White Hut. Obunghole has intentionally screwed up in Afghanistan. He knows that a satisfactory resolution would benefit the US, and he desires only to harm the US.
We had a chance to control this thing over there, but our civilian leadership screwed up againof course. We could have ended it in Kabul; now well fight it on the streets of Atlanta.
Asking why we should defend ourselves is perhaps the stupidest question that human beings have ever uttered. A person who goes around asking it is either an agent of a foreign hostile power or a drooling moron, completely without education, experience, or intelligence.
I guess history about that country over the centuries is lost on whoever is new in office.
People who think war is not the answer are too stupid to understand the question.
I am no pacifist. My entire family served and my mom was a military brat.

“Just in reading the history of Afghanistan shows me that no foreign country can influence what goes on in that country”
Alexander the Great found a way. If we had elected even an Alexander the Mediocre, we could too.
“and for our people to be killed there needlessly is just plain wrong.”
It only became futile when Obunghole deliberately made it so. Even now, our mere presence is a thumb in the eyes of the pigdog murder-muzzies.
“Korea, Vietnam, almost 100,000 dead, millions of wounded, for what???”
The US Army evacuated around 1 million civilians from certain death from the Chinese/NK communists who were killing everyone in sight.
Something like 1 in 5 people living in South Korea are descendants of those people.
Huge victory.
And every so often Korea has a Yankee go home march.
BUMP.
‘Cuz The Truth is well worth repeating.
