Eliminate the last place finisher after each ballot.
Now that is a good and practical solution. I would go for that. But it will be based on the preferences of the delegates and not necessarily those of the voters.
To: for-q-clinton
My calculations suggest Trump will get about 1243 delegates.
The only states I see Trump as potentially NOT winning are Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Montana, New Mexico and South Dakota.
To: PrinceOfCups
True. But according to my college training in statistics (if I remember right) anything above 3.5 MOE is garbage.

Counting Dem crossovers? We count them for Cruz. Why wouldn't we count them for Trump?

the media and gopE want a contested convention. Cruz supporters are hoping convention will vote in their favor since they can’t win it via popular vote

Looking forward to another Trump win. It’s time to put Cruz away. “Finish Him!” (Mortal Kombat)

What’s hilarious is Cruz has so used and abused his conservative supporters that once he loses the nom to Trump they will be in pickle. Cruz will be forced to endorse Trump since is a bought and paid for career politician. Cruz isn’t going anywhere but the GOP and his supporters will stay on the GOP plantation once he tells them to do that.

If the numbers are real, that would entail 40% of the vote coming from Dems or Indies. Not likely. More like 10% I would fuess. That makes this close.

I don’t get the Cruz people - proud conservatives being used as a tool. CRUZ does nothing except the delegate scavenging. That’s not a campaign it’s a rear guard battle to support the establishment.

Trump will have 1100-1300 delegates, next closest is Cruz with 700-800 / plus millions more conservative votes / GoPe is not suicidal / Trump wins on the first ballot if needed/ GoPe negotiate their choice for VP. Cruz needs GoPe backing for VP or hes out. Guaranteed BECAUSE: Just like the last 4 elections, this election comes down to FL and OH. Trumps FL and OH beat down of Cruz, ended any chance he had. Thats right Trumps margin over Cruz just in those states, =~ 1,000,000 voters or pissed off voters if Trump gets dumped. GoPe knows this, they want to hold on to senate and house seats. You're low on Cruz at 700-800, other than that I agree completely. This is Trump's to lose, if on the first ballot then in the "deal making". Because of the impact on Congressional races, I think a candidate other than Trump or Cruz is not in the cards, and Cruz better be within 100, at most 150 delegates to be viable. It's Trumps deal to make if he doesn'tget to 1237
