Donald Trump continued his war with party bosses Sunday, once again saying that he wouldnt rule out a third-party run if he failed to secure the GOP nomination and demanding that rival John Kasich drop out of the race.
Were going to have to see how I was treated. Im going to have to see how I was treated. Very simple, Trump said on Fox News Sunday when asked if he would categorically rule out running as a third-party independent candidate if he failed to win his partys nomination. Its not a question of win or lose. Its a question of treatment. I want to be treated fair.
The comments came just days after Trump, Kasich and Ted Cruz backed out of pledges to support the GOPs eventual nominee. Following the walk-backs, Trump met privately with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus in an apparent effort to smooth things over, but on Sunday, the hot-and-cold relationship appeared on the verge of fracturing once again.
Those kinds of comments, I think, have consequences, Priebus said on ABCs This Week of Trumps latest remarks. When you make those kinds of comments, and you want people to fall in line for you, it makes it more difficult.
In yet another interview, Priebus admitted he wasnt sure whether he felt the former businessman was the partys best candidate.
I dont know, Priebus said on NBCs Meet the Press. Listen, I dont worry about who is the strongest candidate.
Further suggesting Trump was undeterred by the criticism were demands he made during a rally in Wisconsin whose pivotal primary on Tuesday will put for up grabs another 96 delegates that Kasich drop out of the GOP race.

Many things are “NEWS TO YOU”.
Okay retard.
Half of those who don’t want Trump are being fed tens of millions of dollars in attack ads aND negative media. It’s pretty hard to stay viable with that kind of an onslaught. They’ve thrown everything at him but the kitchen sink and he’s still standing. If your boy Cruz was in the lead they’d be cuzifing him too. He’d be palinized as a bible thumping lunatic. They haven’t started on him yet. If and when they do it won’t be pretty.
The GOP broke the pledge first by treating him unfairly. Rubio also renounced the pledge well before Trump said this. By the way, you apparently never took a contracts class.
tell me where you have seen any where in sport of politics where the front runner winning easily should step down to let the first place loser in?
Ill answer: nowhere.
Now, your turn: Tell me where you have seen anywhere in sport or politics where anyone is asked to give up before the game is over.
Priebus told NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday that "it's probably unlikely that you see major changes" as a whole when the RNC rules committee meets, but "the 2012 rules were written by the 2012 delegates, who were bound to Mitt Romney.""And so Mitt Romney's rules of 2012 will not be the rules that apply to the 2016 convention, which will be made largely of Trump and Cruz delegates," he said. "And why would people want the Romney delegates' rules to apply to Cruz and Trump and Kasich? It doesn't make any sense. So the rules committee will come together; those delegates will get on these committees; they'll review the rules and the 2016 rules will apply to the 2016 convention."
For all the world, it sounds to me like they CHANGE the rules that are in place. So they arrive and the old rules are at that point IN PLACE and are the rules that are eligible to be changed.
Tell me that Priebus isn't saying that. Tell me he's instead saying that they arrive, that there are NO RULES AT ALL, and that they create an entirely new document from scratch.
true
You guys’ BS CARPING have reached the maximum. Go tell somebody that believes it. Bub
What makes you think he’d rather be second fiddle to Hillary Clinton when he could be the big kahuna?
I hear from so called conservatives: “Trump cannot win a general because his negatives are so high”...
...well, how do you think they got so high? Because you schmucks are running against him 24/7 with more vigor than you will run against Hillary.
As soon as Hillary is the nominee, they will all become southern gentlemen, and will insist no one bring up her past, or any investigations, or the fact that she’s corrupt as hell, or talk about her husband, just like McCain and Romney wouldn’t sass Obama.
There is no doubt in my mind, that the party that so many here are a proud part of (the GOP) wants Hillary to be president more than most people who are part of the Dem party.
What does that say? Let me say it again: The GOP wants Hillary to be POTUS more than the dem voters want Hillary to be POTUS.
Now, whose the idiot for not supporting the GOP when this is all said and done?
Trumpfolx take it literally as an insult and personal attack that ANY candidate would run against der leader. Competition is evil conspiracy, in their eyes. Authoritarian tyrants, just like DT.
Actually, it’s not true that a 3rd party run insures the election of Clinton.
The electoral college doesn’t work that way. In the event of no one getting a majority of the electors, the election goes to the house by state with each state getting one vote. The majority of delegations are republican.
It’s very likely that it would result in the election of the republican candidate.
I agree with that. The Republicans made a career out of being the second-rate party for decade after decade. They came to like it. All the perks with none of the responsibilities.
And Trump threatens all those perks, so Trump is the enemy.
You are also right that as soon as the Clinton becomes the nominee that the republican will declare the 'proper' strategy is to be 'nice', to lick her feet, to refuse to say anything ungentlemanly because that would be sexist, and they'd cower their way back into their 'loyal opposition' positions from which they will launch occasional bombs to keep their fundraising up and their blinded base in line.
Well that’s mr. president to you. You better start showing respect to mr. Trump. He’s going to make America a better place for all of us even if we have to drag you kicking and screaming. In two years, you are going to hate yourself. We will be here to pick you up but you need to stop with your bitter hate for a guy just trying to make America better. Not sure why you think he’s evil.
I don’t want Trump to shut up.. I want him to use adult answers, sarcasm ... it’s easy to cut the other side to the quick if one is bold enough. Trump is bold enough ..just do it adult like... and do not fall for the media setting him up to take him out. If he’s going to sit before an unfriendly reporter, THINK before he gives an answer that might be correct but gets him into trouble. Don’t answer questions that are hyperbole... There are people out there who would vote for a fighter and a patriot American... but will not vote for a man who they think is embarrassing them. Trump is his own best asset and sometimes he’s his worst enemy. He makes me nervous when he gets before the media.. he’s smooth as silk, but the media so want to destroy him, and in all his honest answers, he sometimes gets himself into trouble.
We must share the same tinfoil hat
Welcome brother, let us welcome our new Ant Overlords...
Win at the ballot box or shove it!
no where and yet sickoflibs can’t answer that.
the front runner in anything never steps down for the first place lower and yet on here sickoflibs keep repeating that crap.
If you folks really thought that you wouldn't be on the all day every day whining streak.
Thread after thread.....constant whining,
“Why wont Ted quit??? BOOHOOHOO”
You give yourselves away.
Go for it, Donald. If they steal delegates and try to block the choice of the voters, I’ll vote for you if you run 3rd party. Screw the GOPe.
