Top Republicans believe Paul Ryan will be nominee
Washington Post ^ | 4/4/16 | Mike Allen

On the eve of the Wisconsin primaries, top Republicans are becoming increasingly vocal about their long-held belief that Speaker Paul Ryan will wind up as the nominee, perhaps on the fourth ballot at a chaotic Cleveland convention.

One of the nation’s best-wired Republicans, with an enviable prediction record for this cycle, sees a 60 percent chance of a convention deadlock and a 90 percent chance that delegates turn to Ryan — ergo, a 54 percent chance that Ryan, who’ll start the third week of July as chairman of the Republican National Convention, will end it as the nominee.

All I can say is “Good luck with your candidate, GOP”. It’s not my party so what does it matter.

RE:”I thought they outlawed Quaaludes, you still seem to have an ample supply.”

Supporting Cruz is the only way to foil the GOPe, the RINOs and the Dems at the same time.

Come on Don, do it for the Red, White and Blue.

Lets see all your evidence that Trump has motivations other then what we can see with our own eyes.

“Thats not Trump. He has recently spoken well of Reid, Pelosi and crowd.”

Heavy sigh. For the third time, I said that Trump thinks he can get along with the demonrats, because he was able to when he was saying the right things and bribing them. I think even he will be aghast at the savagery with which they will turn on him.

Because who she works for is who has the most dominant role with people in the Obama administration, but what can go wrong, right?

Well, gee, if some of them are gonna do that, how can we be sure Cruzbot delegates won’t pull the same stuff?

I mean, as the clock continues to tick down, it just seems you guys are grasping at ever-more desperate straws.

You keep claiming that Trump’s delegate infrastructure is crumpling right before our very eyes, yet the Cruz machine, such as it is, is, and will continue to be, an inviolate wall of unshakeable votes, and is gaining daily, despite being down millions of votes and hundreds of delegates.

The point remains, Cruz does best where outside voters can’t gum up the works. How many more of those do we have?

But, hey - that’s just me, I guess!

CA....

Not the way it works.

Show some evidence he will actually do what he says. Talk is cheap.

As a Cruz supporter, if Ryan gets the nomination, I’ll write in Trump.

How much more clear do I need to be? I support Trump ahead of Cruz. Trump clearly has more support across the country as well, including with those who have voted so far. And some of his best states are yet to come.

But Cruz’s team has been playing an insider game getting their guys into Trump delegate slots. Trump’s team hasn’t been successful in defending against this to date—let alone in a position to have been doing the same to Cruz.

More reason why Trump must quit now and pledge his delegates to Cruz!

This is just crazy to call on the leader to quit. It's Cruz that has a very difficult path to the required nominees so it is Ted Cruz that should drop out.

But no, he has to help the GOP establishment muddy up the works so they can get to a contested convention. Then the GOPe will install their candidate.

All I see here is it's Cruz and his supporters that are helping out the corrupt GOP establishment get this to a contested convention. It's just sad to witness going on here.

The only liar in this discussion is you. You asked another poster "why do you support Hillary?" when he didn't say anything of the sort - he just said he wouldn't vote for Ryan. You may as well have asked "So when did you stop beating your wife and kid?"

I’m still trying to determine the best vote in November if “they” force Ryan, Mitt, etc., as the GOP candidate.

If Trump runs on another ticket, I’ll vote that ticket. If he ends up being 100% out, then I guess the options are to (1)write him in or (2) vote Libertarian or similar. Maybe this’ll be the year the Republican party dies — with a whimper or a bang. We’ll see how that plays out. Which ever it is, good riddance.

I agree, we either take the Republican party back and become a true opposition party to the Uni-party we have going now or just let it wither till it is no more.

Cruz LOVES America and the constitution which is why he refuses Trump's order to surrender without a fight.

He is picking up delegates while Trump plays on TV shows.

Trump should drop out and use his talents electing Cruz,.

Isn’t this a ploy to get Wisconsin voters to vote against Trump with the belief their homeboy will be ge next president? Surely, they’re not that stupid. It would be tge worse defeat for pubs in history. Not only the WH, but the pubs would lse both houses of congress.

Good point, the corrupt GOP establishment, the enemedia, Ted Cruz, Ted Cruz supporters, will do anything, by hook or by crook, to get this to a contested convention hoping they stop Trump.

All they are going to accomplish, if they get their way, is defeat any chance we had for a true opposition party to all the corruption going on in our government today.

I guess you don't want to hear the truth. Cruz has very little chance at getting the nomination with the delegates left.

What he does have left is to deceive and play the GOPe's sleazy games in order to get this to a contested convention.

It is the truth, Ted Cruz, you, and other Cruz supporters are helping the corrupt GOP establishment get this to a contested convention by hook or by crook.

What you fail to see is if you get this to a contested convention and the GOPe gets their way, we all lose a chance at a true opposition party to all the corruption going on in Washington DC. Think about that and your role in this all.

By actively an unequivocally stating he would not vote for the Republican, he is effectively voting for Hillary.

That is not a lie, that is a fact
