Based on Current Situation=> Ted Cruz Will Be Knocked Out of Race By April 26th
GP ^ | 04/02/16 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 04/02/2016 11:20:48 PM PDT by Enlightened1

Based on current delegate counts and poll numbers Ted Cruz will be mathematically unable to reach the delegate count required for him to win the Republican Presidential nomination.

By the end April it will be clear that Ted Cruz has no chance of reaching the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination.

Actually in only 3 weeks, on April 26th, it will be clear that Ted Cruz cannot win.

Rep Del Count 4-3

(chart from Google)

Currently Cruz has only 463 delegates. Even if Cruz wins Wisconsin, which is a state whose delegates are winner take most (WTM), he still will not have enough delegates to win the election by April 26th.

This is in part because New York is leaning heavily towards Trump who leads according to polls listed at Real Clear Politics by as much as 36%. New York has a Republican primary where the delegates are split proportionally. So even if Cruz wins a third of the delegates, it won’t be enough. This is because come April 26th, there are five Republican Presidential primaries and three of these are winner take all (WTA). All three of these states are in the East where polls show Trump leading (Maryland and Pennsylvania) or there is no polling available with the state highly likely leaning towards Trump (Delaware). Even if Cruz wins a third of the delegates in Rhode Island or Connecticut or any of these states, it will not be enough to keep him mathematically in the race.

I don’t get emotional over this stuff, I can tell you coldly that you are overly invested in the man to a level of obsession in which you can’t seem to understand others aren’t.

Trump is a dirt bag and he is going to start treating you like a poor sap as soon as he wins. ..

Your non-emotional self of the 1st sentence should send a memo to your emotional self of your 2nd sentence.

“What a waste of time and effort on the part of Hoft. At this point, no Cruz supporter seriously expects him to walk into the convention with 1,237. It’s all about Donald not getting to 1,237 and the resultant open convention.”

...and nominating Paul Ryan.

The Cruz campaign has turned into just another #NeverTrump effort.

I feel bad for Cruz supporters at this point. They think they are working to get Cruz the nomination. They’re not. They are working to stop Trump.

The GOP is signaling that they have no intention of giving the nomination to Cruz, all you have to do is listen to hear. Cruz, I’m sure, knows this, yet he still solicits donations for his own campaign.

...as Trump supporters walk, and with good reason.

What "good reason"? Cruz would have won, within the rules, fair and square.

You can't argue that Trump should have won with a plurality. You can't argue that Cruz cheated. You have to accept that Trump got out-organized and, ironically, out-dealt.

And, if it comes down to Cruz vs Trump, how does the Establishment win anything?

We have had open conventions before. What is the big deal?

The last time an open "worked out" for the Republicans was only because of an impending civil war.

so you admit that cruz can’t do it and is only there to stop Trump so the establishment can have their contested convention.

Certainly -- so that Cruz has a chance to overtake Trump after the 1st ballot.

Don't you suppose that, if the Establishment tries to inject its own candidate after the 1st ballot, that the Cruz and Trump delegates will unite to crush him?

You can bet your ass that the Republican Elite will tell the Trump and Cruz, for that matter, to gfy and select the Republican nominee. Why? They believe that their slogan of, "It is our guy or Hillary" is enough to get the people to vote Republican. They also believe that their base are too damn stupid to be able to form their own opinions. And last but not least, they had rather see Hillary as President than whom they to be an outsider elected.

The shellacking that the Republican Party will take for following this course of action is going make the shellacking they took in 2008 seem like a Sundayschool picnic. But, unless cooler heads prevail, this will be their course of action.

“First of all, it isn’t doable. The GOP will not let Cruz win on a second ballot.

And even if he did, what would the point be? Do you think the second place loser is going to pull all the support of the leader by playing politics and dirty tricks?”

That will be the logic used to push a fresh face (like Ryan) as the nominee.

Uniter. That will be the code word. We need someone that will unite the party; someone people can unite behind; a uniter.

If you listen, you can already hear the GOP throwing that out also.

Spot on.

Whenever I see one of his posts, I picture an old man yelling at the clouds. I could never sustain his level of bitterness towards posters on a message board. I sincerely wish him well.

I wonder if his acting out is just an indicator of his level of despair regarding the future of our country - a despair which I believe (or want to believe) every Freeper shares with him.

“The GOPe would rather have Cankles and keep the good times rolling in DC.”

In 1980 the GOPe ran a third party candidate in an effort to split Reagan’s vote and give the presidency to Jimmy Carter.

I saw the dirty tricks the GOPe used in 1976 & 1980 against Reagan. There were a lot, but believe me it was nowhere near the level we are seeing today. I have to believe they will go at least as far as they did in 1980.

In 1980 they preferred to hand the presidency back to the worst president ever—Jimmy Carter—to hold onto their power. How far will they go today?

If Jeb, Rubio or Kasich had Trump’s Delegate count, then the RNC would already be calling this race over.

Well stated. The one result we are getting from The Donald being in the race is the exposure of the fraud called the RNC , and the reveal that they want the status quo maintained. they talk a good game to get in office and be supported but when it comes time to take the field they fold.

Go Donald

‘Forgive me , if I can’t follow your logic of blocking the top guy in the RNC Primaries and that some how translates to victory in 2016?

First the 1237 rule can easily be changed by the Republican Establishment.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3416255/posts

Second, I don’t see how VOIDING the WILL the of the Republican voters will MAGICALLY translate into Republican Voters supporting the HIJACKING and the SELECTING the Establishment guy? What complete and utter nonsense!

I’m sorry but that sounds like Common Core math and WISHFUL THINKING at best.’

You are too kind, Enlightened. It is Magical Thinking at best, and psychotic at worst. Cruz is an Adult Child of Alcohlics. As such, one of his characteristics is that reality is not what’s real, it’s what Cruz says it is.

For example. Roger Stone is not currently employed by Trump. But Cruz says Stone IS at present on Trump’s payroll. Thus in Cruz’ mind, what he says becomes reality; Stone is a current Trump employee.

Cruz’ most devoted followers have adopted the same Magical/divorced-from-reality thinking. They fully believe Cruz will win on the second ballot and go on to win the general. It’s delusional. But for them, as for Cruz, it is reality.

It is said of a marriage involving one Adult Child of Alcoholics, ‘enough madness for two.’ In the primary it could be said, ‘Enough madness for all true Cruz believers...with plenty more to spare.’

you want a contested convention.
The establishment wants a contested convention.
You are helping the establishment , and you don’t see it.

There was a time when most of is wanted the establishment out and our party back, but it seems people like you would rather cut your nose off to spite your face.

Truer words were never spoken. The only shot Cruz had was VP to Trump and he has done his absolute best to piss that away. I doubt Trump would consider him and his sterling ethics & morality now for anything.

I’ve never seen so much ado about nothing. No matter who the Republicans pick as their nominee, all that candidate will be in the end is the standard-bearer for the Party of Judas.

If Trump has at least 1,237 committed delegates going into the convention, then he deserves to be the nominee. Same goes for anyone else (though the chances of anyone else approaching that magic number are too long to contemplate). If no one has 1,237 votes going into the convention, then it becomes a free-for-all.

‘and his sterling ethics’

You are one hundred percent right. No one hires Jeff Roe to run a clean campaign with sterling ethics. Roe is the King of Cheating/dirty tricks, and those who hire him get what they pay for.
