I have said from the outset that I would vote for Donald Trump if he were chosen as the Republican nominee. I am contemptuous of much of what he does; I don't trust what he says, and I have no reason to believe that he actually holds conservative values. But, if Trump becomes the GOP nominee, he will be the only alternative to the left ruining America for another four years.
Really, though, their ruining could go on for much longer than four years. With two or three more left-wing Supreme Court justices, the left wouldn't need to win the presidency or Congress in order to "fundamentally (transform) the United States of America," as President Barack Obama promised in 2008. With a leftist Supreme Court, the Court will transform America simply by legislating from the bench. Leftist justices seem to regard their role as promoting social justice, not judging according to the rules of justice within the constraints of the Constitution. As far as domestic policy is concerned, the presidency and Congress will become irrelevant with a majority leftist Supreme Court.
I can chew gum and walk at the same time. Therefore, I could vote for Trump in the general election, while at the same finding much of what he says and does unacceptable. As I explain to all those who ask, between a Republican I don't want to win and a Democrat I don't want to win, I will vote for the Republican...
Having said that, the possibility of Trump being the GOP nominee seems to be approaching reality. Whenever I begin to hope that, knowing this, Trump will at least begin to act intelligently, he does something so stupid that makes my heart sink...

Suppose Trump has no political philosophy.
Suppose Trump will govern from the right 50% of the time and from the left 50% of the time.
Isn’t that a 100% improvement over what we get now?
It is Trump or “let’s burn it down” literally as far as I am concerned. Cruz is an establishment hack who reeks of corruption. I will vote Trump this November...
Prager exactly mirrors how I think of this. I can’t stand the guy, would vote for him because I don’t want Hillary to win, and am incredibly disheartened that he keeps saying stupid stuff that makes that less likely.
Oh! Now Prager now has to get into the act. Oh for Joy!
If you read the article, Prager is actually on your side in terms of wanting Trump to be a viable candidate in the general election.
It's YUUUGE!
SSDD, vote for the lesser Evil.
meh.
Depends. Will he nominate the next supreme court justice while he is swinging left or swinging right?
Once again we’re stuck with voting for the guy who sucks the least.
Who knows?
I expect total randomness. I have detected no consistent political philosophy, either left or right, from Trump.
But a 50 / 50 shot is far superior to what we’ve been experiencing under 0bama / Ryan / Boner / McTurtle. Under the Uniparty, we lose 100% of the time.
Folks, Trump is NOT a “polished” politician...Trump is NOT a “professional politician”...He doesn’t speak in the flowery, flowing rhetoric that politicians practice day and night...He speaks more like everyday, normal, hardworking Americans speak...he may not be eloquent, it may not be flowery, but it is real....That’s why he’s popular with the heart of America...
That’s why he is hated by the “professional political establishment”...He is one of us, not one of them....
The interesting thing about Trump’s “meanness” is that it is his response to perceived attacks that has formed this reputation. If Trump were not on the receiving end of these, his behavior would likely be far more acceptable.
Solution, stop poking the bear.
This would also likely be a good foreign policy with the understanding that we are the bear.
Now, is he intelligent? It should only take a few minutes of actually listening to him to conclude that he is one of the smartest people in the room. (I agree with the idea that he does not use a PC filter, and therefore upsets those people who do.)
Has anyone read his position papers?
No matter what Trump says it will be considered wrong or mean in the eyes of the Democrats, MSM, and most of the GOP establishment.
” I am contemptuous of much of what he does; I don’t trust what he says, and I have no reason to believe that he actually holds conservative values.”
Says the philosopher-king, who has about 1/2 the intellectual brains and 1/10th the “street brains” of Trump. Trump’s position on illegals
trade
Muslim scum
Taxes
is to the right of Reagan.
Just shut your pie hole, Dennis. Stand up to the evil we are dealing with now, and I’m only talking about the Establishment Republicans here.....the Democratic Party belongs in JAIL : )
He’s “mean”?? How old is Dennis Prager?
Has anyone read Hillary’s position papers?
If only Cthulhu were on the ballot ...
And if my Aunt had doodads she'd be my uncle.
Why would anyone ever stop poking him if they get an irrational response that discredits him? He will get pocked and prodded mercilessly during the general election campaign precisely because he damages his own candidacy when responding.
Solution, stop poking the bear.
That might be a solution for Trump, but why would anyone who supports someone else give him a "solution"? They want him to look bad.
I can't swear but I believe I heard him say he couldn't vote for Trump right at the beginning; however, its good to see he is coming around.
If you told me at the beginning of the primary that it'd come down to Cruz and Trump - hell even Kasich. I'd be pretty happy.
Also I think people are seeing Trump improve as a candidate.
