Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife as endorser Carly Fiorina leaps in to insist a declaration that he's not an adulterer is a 'dance to Donald trump's tune'
Texas senator could put National Enquirer scandal to rest with a simple statement that he has never strayed in his 14-year marriage
Instead he has batted down the supermarket tabloid's speculative story about five alleged affairs in a more limited fashion
Carly Fiorina leaped in to intercept DailyMail.com's request for a blanket statement of marital fidelity and Cruz ultimately punted on the question
Fiorina pleaded for a return to discussing issues, but lobbed her own accusation at 'serial adulterer' Donald Trump
Cruz also challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate in Wisconsin on Tuesday night: 'Why don't you show up and debate like a man?'
Ted Cruz declined to answer a question on Monday about whether he has ever been unfaithful to his wife Heidi.
'Senator Cruz,' DailyMail.com asked him, 'can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you've never been unfaithful to your wife?'
The National Enquirer published a story last Wednesday that speculated about five women with whom the Republican presidential candidate was rumored to have had extramarital affairs.
Cruz has batted down the specifics of the story on numerous occasions since it appeared in supermarket checkout lanes.
But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle Cruz stood silently as campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina leapt in to intercept the question and change the subject.

Doesn’t look too good.
He’s all but finished as a serious candidate, although I’ve never thought he was one. No candidate that loses Ohio, Florida and gets summarily destroyed all over the South is going to the GOP candidate. GOPe would pick Kasich over Lying Ted.
Yeah, well, unfortunately “everybody does do it.”
I would say at least with Trump, we already knew that. And people already knew what Clinton was when they elected him in 92. It’s a sad state of affairs to be sure, but there it is.
People just wanted him to give a proper defense instead of avoiding and attacking. How many days now and multiple interviews, he has yet to deny the cheating charge.
So flaunting his sin makes him the better man? What great choices we have.
ask him. And Trump hasn't been presenting himself as the most holy candidate either. Cruz is a complete fake. I'm beginning to wonder if he was ever really conservative or if he just used it to further his ambition.
How many political/PR campaigns have you run? I’ll second-guess when A) there’s some evidence aside from innuendo and tabloid speculation, B) when the tactic obviously costs him support from people who were actually going to vote for him in the first place (because Trump supporters don’t matter one bit... they were already lost votes).
Well there is one politician that I know of who didn’t cheat, Jimmy Carter.
I don’t get why he married her. He already had it for free.
And all the women married to people he knew and slept with? Admirable schlonging of thy neighbors wife?
“He may be a cheater, but he’s our cheater...”
It is a total moot point with Trump. He wasn't in public office, it was covered extensively in the 80s and 90s, and he didn't pretend to be this holier-than-thou schmuck like Cruz had.
Total non-issue dredged up by desperate Rafael supporters. I don't care if Trump banged more women than Ron Jeremy and was married 100 times. It's not going to change my vote for him.
Separate issue. Start new thread on a topic of Trump fidelity.
Who is DailyMail.com? Is this a person? Will Trump answer a question from Starstruck.com? Have you Donald Trump ever been unfaithful to Ivana, Marla or Melania? No answer means he must be guilty in all cases.
“It was all a ploy for him to dupe Evangelicals to vote for him”.
Evangelicals all over the South saw right through “evangelical” Ted and didn’t like what they saw, then Donald Trump beat him like a drum all the South and won the majority of evangelical votes.
“I just care about the hypocrisy. A person can make a mistake and come clean about it - Ill respect him, then. But if he keeps running away from responsibility, I wonder about his ability to give a rats a$$ about me, and my little issues.”
This actually not a matter of a mistake but of habitual behavior as there are multiple women involved over a substantial amount of time. Thus, not a one time lapse in moral judgement but a lifestyle choice.
The circumstances just make it worse and that is as shame
There was a report this morning...by a reporter actually, who said that in private Cruz mocks the evangelicals and is “irreligious”.
Given that he and his algothorims via his psyops data mining are searching how to get people to vote for him - well I believe it. He paid to get the data and he has been acting on it.
Donald Trump held up a Bible and said he reads it more than anybody else in the whole wide world. Then he bangs his friends wife, brags about it and tops it off by saying he has nothing to ask forgiveness for. Quite a guy that Mr. Trump.
Most people recognize deflection and dodging, you don’t need to be a PR guy.
