Unfortunately, due to my Irish tragic view of the world and knowing that there are way too many players that have a vested interest in keeping the status quo, I don’t believe any one man can change the course of the country unless he’s willing to lead an all out revolution.
That reply made no logical sense at all.
The way you fight such things is with sound trade policicy, how bout lower business taxes, how bout getting rid of punitive EPA laws. Why in the world would you complain about other countries buying downn there their goods so they can be sold to us cheaper. I thought that’s what we wanted.
You beat them by overwhelming them with your production capacity. Taxing Americans with a 45 percent tariff tax only strengthens them and weakens us.
The fact you appear to think Cruz is ‘led’ by the Gope just attests of ignorance about the mans history in Washington and throughout his life. There’s nothing I can offer that has not already been revealed throughout FR...nor would I attempt to do so...it’s a pointless effort to even discuss as it would simply follow with the standard Trumpsters vile doggy pile. No thank you...sufficient we disagree.
A 45 percent tariff is America first.
Just wait till the working class goes to buy a new car and the price of the car goes up 8 to 10 thousand dollars because of Trumps insane proposal.
Obama must be sitting back and smiling...he could never get should a huge tax increase passed. Yet Trumpsters cant wait until Trump taxes them into oblivion...

America is still the number one consumer market in the world.
If the US actually proposed a tariff such as this, automakers would come to the table and the US would never have to impose such a thing.
The Chinese don’t call Americans “The Simple People” for nothing.
Some of the comments here tell me that you do not understand the leverage the US has in this regard.
You are not mentally fit enough to negotiate a the purchase of a used car.
so cruz is not for cruz first in your mind. please tell you are not that naïve?
The man can’t even finish his first term just like bama, and we tried that crap.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different results.
Electing another ivy league lawyer and expecting a different results from somebody who did not finish his first term is INSANE.
He doesn’t have a stellar staff.....but he surely will present the “image” that he has. And even with one Trump will have to e led around Washington...he knows little of the environment if any, and certainly knows nothing of the landmines.
Bravo Sierra, poo bear and that's one of the reasons I'm not a Trump supporter cuz I believe that he will maintain the status quo and then some.
Good! I like for people who work for me to not sleep as long as they are doing things I want done the way I want them done.
How did that work out for the folks the last time we passed a massive tariff tax on middle class America? I nearly wiped out the middle class. It turned them into simple beggars living into cardboard cities.
No thank you Mr. Trump been there and done that.
Cruz? Why are you mentioning Cruz?
I’ll tell you why. Because half of the Trump supporters on this thread can’t defend their position UNLESS they attack Cruz.
Stick to the subject, please. It makes you anti-Tedsters look mighty foolish and irrelevant to argue for Trump by dragging Cruz into this.
So you can’t answer the question. Let me put it another way without mentioning cruz your guy.
Is there any elected ivy league, lawyers who are not elected official who don’t care about themselves first?
simple question and only takes yes or no.
Oh. So you want to ignore the subject and change the topic 180 degrees with straw man arguments? I can do that.
Do you still beat your wife?
“simple question and only takes yes or no.”
Classic Trumpeteer retort? How about arguing facts that your guy will not implement economy killing tariffs and that he uses foreign labor?
I will answer your question then and lets say now we have a straw man question from both of us as that is what you want.
The answer is no, now can you answer my question?
Is there any ivy league lawyer who have become or not become an elected official who has not put themselves first?
yes or no.
Why are you so afraid of discusssing the subject? All I’ve said is that Trump places Trump first. You can’t handle that? You feel compelled to hate on Cruz and Ivy Leaguers?
Pal, I’d be glad to go off the subject and talk about whatever pops in your mind, but not today.
You STILL do not understand. You talk about “Production Capacity!” WHAT production capacity. Our manufacturing base has been decimated. These businesses which abandon America and go elsewhere are DRAINING our wealth, or jobs, our future. In many cases the THREAT of high tariffs will suffice to keep companies here. We have taken it on the chin far too long. We are a DEBTOR nation. Time we built our own country back to a position of strength with our money, our resources, our ingenuity. For YEARS people have been buying chinese junk until now America is indebted to China among oter countries. We rebuilt Japan after defeating Japan in the war and NOW we OWE JAPAN! I remember Pearl Harbor! I will NOT buy Japanese products over American. Patriotism comes in a lot of forms. Time America comes first and Trump will make that happen by leveling the playing field. With Trump you can look forward to high taxes being lowered, made in America labels on products we buy, lower restrictions and government control which drives up America’s costs, and too many benefits to list here. I cannot believe the number of people who are as tunnel visioned as you. Do a little research! Trump is right!
“He is against H1-B visas but uses them in his businesses.”
It is a legitimate query. Why should we listen to him when he uses H1-B visas which take jobs from Americans?
But it is also an ad hominem tu quoque fallacy (Latin for, “you also”).
The appeal to hypocrisy is an informal logical fallacy that intends to discredit the validity of the opponent’s logical argument by asserting the opponent’s failure to act consistently in accordance with its conclusion(s).
A tu quoque “argument” follows the pattern:
Person A makes claim X.
Person B asserts that A’s actions or past claims are inconsistent with the truth of claim X.
Therefore X is false.
An example would be
Donald Trump agrees with the GOP-e to an extent in believing our immigration is broken and must be reformed from the ground up. But not by simply granting another general amnesty.
5th generation Texan says, “He is against H1-B visas but uses them in his businesses.”
Consequently Trump’s position is false.
H1-B Visas are perfectly legal. As are EPA, OSHA and EOE regulations. Trump uses the law and complies with the law in his businesses, but he wants to change them.
He has said he will abolish the EPA along with countless other agencies he has undoubtedly wrangled with over the years, `Brazil’-like, officious leeches that have proliferated under both parties and burdened businesses, eating out their (and our) substance.
The most recent example is the Affordable Care act which has worked the result that American businesses won’t hire new workers at more than 30 hours a week in order that they do not fall within the mandate of Obamacare.
Trump isn’t Microsoft or anyone of the countless other e-businesses that hire legal visa holders (notably Indians) who work for less, are docile and no threat to management. There are plenty of Americans who would love to have one of these jobs.
Trump said he uses H1-B workers to do the scut work at his hotels and resorts, that the jobs have been advertised but they cannot get American workers to swab toilets.
Once the border is secured and squatting illegals have been returned to their own country(ies), as he has also promised, we can begin admitting legal alien workers to do the jobs Americans actually won’t do.
OTOH, those who enjoy paying less than subsistence wages to docile illegals to landscape their yards, make their beds, clean their pools, care for their children—they are going to be SOL.
I hope you found this useful FRiend.
OK yet aghian you failed to answer the question and we can do this for monmths if you like.
Does Trump put himself and family first, yes I would assume so, but does he need to do this when he has all that money, I don’t think so.
Now again can you answer the question.
Does any ivy league lawyer who has or not become an elected official ever not put themselves first?
yes or no.
It really is that simple and yet you keep not wanting to answer it as you know the fake outrage is just your bias view on your guy or maybe ivy league lawyer or elitist establishment types.
All this talk about how Trump will make American great again again makes me think back to 2008 when the oceans were going to recede and the planet started healing...
