Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Sunday slammed rival Ted Cruz for the recent ad produced by an anti-Trump super-PAC featuring a photo of Trump's wife posing nude.
"From what I hear, he and his campaign went out and bought the cover shoot. Melania did a cover story for 'GQ,' a very strong modeling picture. No big deal," Trump said on ABC's "This Week."
"But it was a cover story for 'GQ,' a big magazine. And it was, you know, fine. And from what I hear, somebody bought the rights to it and he was the one or his campaign bought the rights and they gave it to the super PAC."
Trump said Cruz knew about the ad, adding he started the latest fight between the two. Last week, Trump threatened to "spill the beans" on Cruz's wife in response to the ad featuring Melania Trump. He then shared a tweet featuring a photo of his wife next to a photo of Cruz's wife, stating, "A picture is worth a thousands words."
Cruz has denied knowing anything about the ad, and called it deplorable on Sunday.
But Trump said the super PAC that produced the ad is "very friendly to Ted Cruz."
"He knew all about it, 100 percent," he said.
"There's no way in a million years that super PAC did that without his absolute knowledge."
Trump the BS artist at it again.
You read it right here at Free Republic since it is the source of that claim.
First of all, more lies from you on Trump.
Secondly, that is the message of that ad. Theres a pic of a nude Melania with following text above:
Meet Melania Trump, your next first lady:
Then at bottom:
Or, you can support Ted Cruz on Tues.
And imbecile could derive the meaning, it’s crystal clear.
The GQ thing featured several super models. 16 years ago when she supporting herself with a modeling career. Models do that stuff to support themselves. Kate Moss was in the same feature in GQ. No big deal,,,, until the “or you could vote for Cruz” banner was added. Cruz is a oozing pilonidal cyst!
The lies that continue to come from these people are staggering. This is exactly how Democrats behave.
And it’s easy enough for Mair or whomever to file discovery along with a complaint and ask Trump, “Who did you hear that from?”
If there was a defamation or other action here, but there’s not.
Read my post again, this time slowly so that you can understand it.
A know that a retweet is not an original composition. It’s repeating what someone else has said. Kind of like gossip.
Of course Trump didn’t create the unkind photo montage; he probably doesn’t even know how to do that. But when he retweeted it, he agreed to it, he became a part of it, and he put his name on it.
It was nasty. It was low. It was typical Trump ugliness. And you know that.
Thats why they had to buy the license to the copyrighted photos and its the CSI type fingerprint that proves Cruz is lying when he claims he had nothing to with it.>>> except there is no evidence someone from cruzs campaign got the permission to use. If it was the pac then it’s what it is supposed to do.
Heidi Cruz is Ted’s wife if that is who you mean. Cruz did nothing illegal or immoral in questioning the character of Melania Trump and he also shouldn’t be surprised that Trump fired back. It’s how the game is played.
A straight out lie. Cruz never said a damn thing negative about Mrs. Trump.
That implies Heidi is acceptable as first lady. Perfectly fair to show the angry wench next to Melania.
Correct, the scumbag Trump actually did take an unflattering picture of Heidi Cruz and put it next to a posed shot of his wife. To what purpose? You'd have to ask somebody in grade school. Like you.
And a retweet is not creating the pic as you first implied. Just trying to straighten this out A retweet is repeating what someone else said.
A retweet is a retweet depending on what the meaning of is is. You're a joke.
I also read it somewhere else.
I’m serious here, what was so nasty? Heidi has let it be known she is part of the Cruz team, her boss will be the beneficiary if Cruz wins.
Cruz attacked Melania, which I think was intentional to draw Trump in right before #Mistress-gate broke. Anyway, Melania is not part of Trump’s campaign so it was even more unfair.
And up until the media talking points I never would have thought that pic was about physical appearances, more about personality.
Melania is an attractive, nice and likable woman BUT whenever your job requires you to do something that goes against your morals it's time to find another line of work. That she didn't do that makes me question her moral judgment.
And then you claim to know the difference between a tweet and retweet. Which is it?
Based upon what? Because some sexual intellectual (read: f***ing know-it-all) like you says so?
Puh-leeeeeeeeze. If you're going to make an empiric statement, provide empiric evidence.
” Isnt she proud of it?”
She’s not proud the “Or you could vote for Cruz” was added to it. Your argument is silly!
It doesn’t show ALL of the expenditures, only page one. Nice try, here are some parting gifts for you.
“From what I hear” ??
