Update APs latest on casualty count: A spokesman for the Punjab government says that a bomb attack on a park in the Pakistani city of Lahore has killed 60 people and injured 300.
An explosion in Lahore, Pakistan, has killed between 50-60 people, mostly women and children, and left hundreds injured as they celebrated Easter.
Law enforcement said the explosion occurred near a large group of Christians celebrating Easter, according to the Associated Press:
Senior police officer Haider Ashraf says the explosion took place close to the childrens rides in Gulshan-e-Iqbal park. He says the explosion appeared to have been a suicide bombing, but investigations were ongoing. The area was crowded with Christians celebrating the Easter holidays, he said.
Most of the dead and injured are women and children, explained Mustansar Feroz, the police superintendent.

It’s way past time for payback (actually payback x100).
We have got to start fighting back from the west
All the mosques will immediately denounce this evil Islamic deed for sure.
has the MSM any idea about a possible motive? (sarcasm)
Still nothing on Drudge...
Political correctness has stymied western governments and this dumbassed Pope too
Can you imagine JPII talking such love nonsense to these Christ hating butchers?
The left in the west hates Christianity more than they fear Islam
How very sad that when you click on the Easter message on the front page, this is at the top of the list.
These savages will never stop.
Prayers for all. :(
Prayers up.
If these violent attacks do not have their roots in a religion, they are rooted in an anti-religion.
we should be letting 100s of thousands of Christians in, if anything.
we do the opposite.
What the world needs is an Islamic leader with sufficient religious and military clout to step up and reform the movement. The titular head of Islam is the king of Saudi Arabia. But if he tried, he’d be executed by the closest believer to hand. That’s the problem. Islam is a war cult. All Muslims are part of the army. To try to change anything would make them apostate. That is the equivalent of desertion under fire. The penalty for desertion under fire is death. We saw what happened when a shopkeeper just wished people Happy Easter.
The only likely candidate is the current president of Egypt. But we aren’t supporting him right now.
There’s a road that’s straight and narrow
That the saints have travelled on
Paved with all the tribulations
Of the martyrs that have gone
-
The jihadists don’t know it, but they are spreading Christ in their Muslim countries.
This is an epic battle between good and evil. islam needs to be removed from all Western -civilized- countries.
**Update 2** Taliban takes credit.
Hebrews 12: 35 -40 —
35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were put to death by stoning;[e] they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.
39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
Who else is getting sick of casualty counts?
Islam OUT
Why are all the pictures taken in the dark hours, Easter in parks with women and children are in the daylight hours...does this seem strange to anyone else?
Wow. Despicable and sad. Oh to be a fly on the wall when these suicide bombers meet God and find out they are getting no virgins and go straight to hell.
