Scott Walker: Nominee at Brokered Convention Will Be Someone ‘Not Currently Running’

Wisconsin governor Scott Walker said Thursday that in the event of a contested convention, the Republican nominee will likely be someone who is "not currently running."

"I think if it's an open convention, it's very likely it would be someone who's not currently running," Walker said.

"I mean, who knows. The one thing I qualify -- it's like the qualifications you see on those ads you see for car dealerships. I think any of us who comment on this election have to qualify that almost every prediction's been off, so it's hard to predict anything," Walker added.

Walker's own run for the presidency went down in flames before the Iowa caucus even happened, due in large part to Walker hiring a D.C.-based team that didn't know how to manage a conservative Midwesterner.

Convention head Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)56% has not definitively ruled out the possibility that he could get the nomination in Cleveland. John Boehner said that he would support Ryan on a second ballot.

“The GOP mob bosses will pick the RINO nominee to lose to Hillary Clinton.”

Any one those “GOP mob bosses” would pick should do better than Trump who is consistently losing to Clinton (And Sanders). Guess he must be a RINO too.

Right. The GOP is going to force some new idiot on the electorate and we are just going to accept their choice.

And the guys and gals who have put their guts on the line for the last year are expected to simply step aside.

Get effing real GOP.

You are just about to piss us off.

It’s too bad things have got so nasty, because Cruz belongs on Trump’s ticket and now that seems unlikely.

You’re welcome...but I still disagree with everything you’re saying. So be it. Our family eschewed TV seven years ago so I haven’t been taught to hate him yet.

Yup - Scott Walker. I thought he got out a little too early. Made me wonder what was up.

Cruz stand down? Why?

Why? Don't you know? It has been determined by Trump supporters that only billionaires self funding their campaigns are allowed to run for President from now on, so as not to be beholden to anyone.........not anyone, but themselves.

Sessions endorsed trump you know, and is his advisor
Is he the kind of man who would subvert the votes of probably 12 million people or more for Trump by substituting a man who didn’t run and never presented or defended or debated his ideas for voters to hear and decide on?

Because that is the kind of man ( and woman look for Fiorina as vp) they are looking for - a dose of Imodium for an out of control electorate

So no one voted for the person and they’ll tell us who the nominee is...let’s call the nominee Chavez Jr.

I’m wondering how many GOP officials are secretly dreaming right now of a brokered convention and how they might be able to finagle their way into the nomination. I bet it’s an awful lot.

If that was true they'd support Trump. The purpose of the GOP is to lose to Hillary. The GOP hates Trump because he will beat Hillary.

You can stand down now, the big secret is out.

“Cruz is becoming the establishment’s last ditch effort, in this race.”

Cruz being used. They have no intention of picking him. Kasich maybe. They want Cruz and Kasich to stay in the race to deny Trump the delegates he needs to sew it up. Cruz is too arrogant and thickheaded to realize what’s going.

Oh, I’m quit4 sure that Cruz is the same person he always was. HE just had people fooled, and his true colors are now showing. He has fooled so many people, and it’s sad to see and hear them defend his lies.

Yeah, because the alternative has worked SO well.

Right, comrade?

Why doesn’t Kasich stand down? Because he is the spoiler for the establishment
