BYU Islamic studies professor Daniel Peterson tells Local News 8/KIDK that while the Mormon and Muslim religions are very different there are similarities.
The idea behind Shariah is somewhat like the Word of Wisdom put out by the Mormon Church. It's a moral code. Unlike Shariah, the Word of Wisdom does not have a capital punishment extension as Shariah does.
Peterson said when people say that all Muslims are associated with ISIS it's comparable to saying that all LDS church members believe what the FLDS church practices.

If I’m reading the legislation correctly it prevents any religious law from being used in state court decisions. It’s not talking about dietary restrictions, clothing requirements, or when and how anyone prays. So I’m not seeing the need for either of these guys to weigh in.
The similarities between Islam and Marxism are becoming very apparent. Both believe they are a “final revelation” - that which provides the ultimate end, and final purpose for society and man’s politics and economy on earth.
That in itself is an invitation to violence and totalitarianism.
Just as you would never trust a “Marxist Scholar” to be objective about his movement’s motives, one should never rust and “Islamic Scholar” to be objective about his movement’s motives either.

Mormonism and Islam - both are false
islam springs forth from a poisoned well....what you choose to do with the water is irrelevant, the source is just plain bad.
In the context of religion, that pretty much draws the distinction between good and evil.
The author carelessly neglected to place quote marks around that statement, so it is not clear the prof actually thought to include the point in his comments.

Both of those comedians answer the wrong question.
Nobody gives a rat's elbow what the Mormons or the muslims say or do, so long s they keep to themselves.
The real question is will, either the Mormons or the muslims continuing meddling in SECULAR law?
The US was founded as a secular state with Judeo-Christian foundations.
With secular laws being supreme. Then and now.
Religions are welcome but not allowed to meddle in Constitutional matters.
