On today's With All Due Respect, NPR legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg broke some news, saying she thought President Obama "got a message from Republicans via backchannels that they would probably move this [Supreme Court] nomination after the presidential election."
Let's game-plan this out. If it means that Senate Republicans would move to confirm President Obama's pick of Merrick Garland even if a Republican were elected president, it would be a huge backstab of the Republican base. But if Republicans would only move Garland if a Dem wins, thus depriving Hillary or whomever of the chance to nominate an unreconstruced radical, then it could be a crafty maneuver. Totenberg added that once Obama got such a concession, Dems would "work very hard" to get other concessions, forcing a hearing and a vote.

More like Ryan’s back channel.....
Oh I’ll bet Obama’s got “backchannels” all right. Besides George Soros. Maybe we could ask Donald Young?
Oh, I forgot, he was murdered, December 2007.
Let’s not pretend the battle is over yet.
1-I doubt Nina’s sources or their accuracy,
2-The scenario “may” play out if Clinton wins,
3-We can’t be certain who either nominee will be yet,
3a-Clinton could be indicted and another candidate fielded,
3b-Cruz could still win a contested convention.
3c-The down-ballot impact of 3a and 3b are unpredictable.
Of all the people on earth who I despise, She, Matthews and Obama would all be in the top 10. Maybe in the top 5.
I doubt it.
They better f**ing not. ANY candidate Obummer nominates better be DOA, period.
They will do it before the election
After the Election it’s the next President’s job to pick a new Stooge
Better not
Bs, propaganda, if true Dems would keep their mouths shut
And when is NPR going to change their letters to NDR??? National Democrat Radio.....funded by all taxpayers.
>>Also, with Trump at the top of the ticket, its very likely that the Senate will be strongly Dem after the election anyway
I don’t feel that. Enthusiasm is on life support for the Dems.
They had 1.6 million votes in 2008. This shrunk to barely over a million this primary.
The Republicans had BARELY .5 million in 2008. This rose to 8 million in 2012 and hit 1.2 million this year. In 8 years, 1 million vote switch from Dem to Republican.
This will definitely change in the general, but this is occurring in every state and shows a huge turnout for Republicans. Democrat coattails will be small with Hillary because of Bernie stayhomes and switchovers. It will be even LOWER if Bernie bolts to third party.
You do realize we’re going to need to start up a radio free America for real soon. We may have to go mobile.
I wonder if the GOP made a deal with Obama on this one. There will be no serious political price to pay for holding up the nomination of a white guy with two last names from a Marxist sh!t-hole like Chicago.
Should Hitlery win from her prison cell, Obummer will withdraw this guy for not being Communist enough.
Why any human being would have a picture of this beast ready to post in any thread is beyond me but apparently not you.
Maybe psychiatry might help or the anti-psychotic haloperidol on a short-term basis - for me that is.
For you? Well I think you might be beyond hope.
Forgive me. I am having trouble gathering myself after viewing that image. My dog has already died.
Nina Totenberg (her name in German means death mountain) is the same to me as Jane Fonda. Wish they were in the same place & I say that as a Vietnam veteran.
2016 is not shaping up to be good year for Democrats. With Hillary losing the FBI lottery and the extremely negative publicity that’s forthcoming, Democrats will be forced to substitute Biden which probably means that Bernie the commie will run as an independent.
With Hillary’s pay-to-play scheme about to erupt, the public is about to witness details of malfeasance in office that’s beyond imagination. The scandal is going to enmesh Obama and the DOJ so much that the SCOTUS controversy won’t even make the back page.
Lots of Democrats will be staying home and hunkering down.
If Hillary is elected, Ginsburg will probably quit anyway. If trump wins, Ginsburg will probably drop soon enough.
Why you gotta show a picture of that walking talking hemorrhoid with a bad wig?
