By any measure Trump won a historic victory tonight. Ted sided with the protests and got killed in Illinois. Ted lost the south. Ted lost MO. Ted got shut out.

But none of them claim that everyone loves them.

We we’ll get out your chalkboard because Cruz under polled badly tonight as well. To me it’s the polling place that is wrong not trump or Cruz.

That’s why we have elections deary. Polls are meaningless and have all sorts of uses. You always point out THE poll. They are all over the charts.

I don’t think Trump ever claims the whole GOP loves him. If more than half as you say, “hate” Trump. Then even more hated Crubio, and Kaisck.

Math is fun.

So how come he’s up over 200 delegates and keeps winning the large states under conditions most like a real election?

“Kasich and Rubio staying in to this point gave Trump the win. He should thank them for their endorsement.”

You are assuming that all of the Rubio and Kasich voters go to Cruz. I am not sure that is the case. You are forgetting also that Trump may make some kind of deal with Rubio or Kasich to get an endorsement of the delegates thy already have.

I started out as a supporter of Senator Cruz but the more I saw of him the slimier he looks and I changed my position.

The best bet I think would be a 60/40 split to Cruz and that still leaves Trump ahead in most places.

Also, Trump has just beaten Cruz in his strongest area - The South. His evangelicalism may not play as well in northern states

But we will see.

Actually, Alpha male Trump is clutching at victory. Beta male Cruz is clutching at pearls.

What is a “clatch?” Is it what Gamma male Rubio does when he “clatches” at failure.

Seems then way more than half hate Cruz. I am so seldom in the majority as crazy as the world has become so this feels good.

Seems to me the math is clear 49.3% not for Trump and 49.5% not for Cruz. Now the question is what of the just under 20% would have gone?

You can mean that that everyone just loves the Trumpser. At least that is what we have repeatedly been told.

Cruz could have done better tonight in IL and MO, but I think folks in both those states are opposed to the violence perped by the Left in Ferguson and Chicago.

When the Lefties disrupted Chicago and the Democrats convention in 1968 Bill Buckley didn’t blame the Democrats, he called the anti-Vietnam War communist flag flying protestors “crypto-fascists”.

Ted’s comments were inconsistent with conservatism when he tried to pin blame on Trump along with the lefties.

Yes, Ted didn't win a single state tonight, and dropped behind Trump by a decent margin, as everyone expected. What does that have to do with my point that Trump leads in the poll averages (note, not just cherry-picked polls, but the averages of multiple polls as posted by RCP), and then wins by far less, or even loses, in more than half of the states so far?

KS 30
ID 28
OK 17
VT 12
VA 11
TX 8
SC 8
AK 7
IA 7
OH 7
MO 7
NC 7
MS 6

Those are the differences between Trumps average position in the final polls (1-4 days before the vote) and the actual vote... in 13 of 24 states... That's significant, consistent, and Trump folks cannot seem to address it substantively at all. They simply insult the polls and me. Halfway through the Primary, and half of the states have significant drops at the last moment. Those who pay attention to numbers should see something significant here.

(He has had only 2 states with a rise of more than 2 pct at the end.)

according to the CNN exit polls tonight the same number of Republican voters who say they will never vote for Trump say they will never vote for Cruz or Kasich..

A majority of 100% is 40.7%? I’ve just been told that math is a funny thing, but I didn’t realize it was that funny.
