Friday evenings Donald Trump rally in Chicago was broken up by a foul-mouthed mob that infiltrated the hall and forced the cancellation of the event to prevent violence and bloodshed.
Brownshirt tactics worked. The mob, triumphant, rejoiced.
And the reaction of Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and John Kasich?
All three Republican rivals blamed Donald Trump.
With his dangerous style of leadership, Trump stokes this anger, mewed Rubio, This is what happens when a leading presidential candidate goes around feeding into a narrative of bitterness and anger and frustration.
Rubio implies that if Trump doesnt tone down his remarks to pacify the rabble, he will be responsible for the violence visited upon him.
Kasich echoed Rubio: Donald Trump has created a toxic environment (that) has allowed his supporters and those who sometimes seek confrontation to come together in violence.
But were the thousands of Trump supporters who came out to cheer him that night really looking for a fight? Or were they exercising their right of peaceful assembly?
Cruz charged Trump with creating an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord, thus offering absolution to the mob.
Friday night cried out for moral clarity. What we got from Trumps rivals was moral mush that called to mind JFKs favorite quote from Dante: The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis maintain their neutrality.

“JFKs favorite quote from Dante: The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis maintain their neutrality.”
Good words to remember.
I wasn’t so much disappointed by Kasich and Rubio since they are both linguini spined, but I was sure disappointed by Cruz. I thought he had more character than just wanting to score some cheap political points.
Kascih and Rubio are GOPe amnesty pimping losers but I would’ve expected more from Cruz.
KASUCK got half a million form MOveon.org Soros! Of course the weenie will not admonish the rabble.
Rubicon. Crossed.
I'm more than a little bit nervous that we have gone so far left that the majority will end up capitulating instead of fighting.
Tomorrow will tell us a lot in that respect.
Has Cruz and his girly supporters declared that it's un-Constitutional for Republicans to defend themselves?
In the minds of the Constitution worshipers, non-Liberals must always supplicate themselves to Liberals.
The only proper response to Liberal hatred, invective, and violence is to debate them on the nuances of the Constitution.
We must explain to Liberals that what they're doing is wrong, un-American, and un-Constitutional. We must educate rabid insane Liberal animals on the proper ways to behave.
To paraphrase the black comedian George Wallace: Some people need their asses kicked.
I know this stance is offensive to LIBs and to LIB-lovers.
Yup, I read it. Pat knows as he was there and right in the thick of it. We’re about to enter into a battle the likes of which most of us have never seen. This one is for the very survival of our nation. Wimps will need to either come around to reality or get the hell out of the way.
“Can one imagine how the media would pile on Trump if working-class white males in Trump T-shirts invaded a Hillary Clinton rally and shut it down?”
Unless they were on a paid vacation, most working-class white males would be busy working and managing their own lives before they’d do anything like that. Even then, they’d probably have bigger fish to fry.
Ann Coulter called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Fox News ‘traitors’ for blaming Donald Trump for dangerous protesters shutting down a Friday-night rally in Chicago, blistering Trumps primary rival on Twitter.

‘It’s also reflected in his treatment of protesters, where anyone who’s a protester is disloyal and must be punished,’ Mr. Cruz told reporters ...
NO, SENATOR CRUZ. READ MICHELLE MALKIN’S ‘UNHINGED’. That’s EXACTLY what Trump, Hannity, and Rush are talking about.
Patrick J. Buchanan bump!
Vintage Buchanan!
What a closing statement!
... JFKs favorite quote from Dante: The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis maintain their neutrality.
When the ‘forefathers’ of these Lefties marched in Chicago to brownshirt the Democratic National Convention in 1968 William F. Buckley Jr. said on ABC-TV, where he was a commentator, that the Leftists were ‘crypto-fascists’.
And they are today and the GOP candidates should have minced no words in honestly describing the situation.
Which state’s public school system indoctrinated Ted Cruz? He sounds like a product of the Michigan system.
The senior citizen who slugged the protester who was already on his way out with security was looking for a fight. To try to pretend otherwise is just fooling yourself. Cruz has had protesters and handled them without encouraging assault and battery. The bad guys are the obnoxious protesters, as Cruz has also said, but a leader sets the tone, even in a rally.
