Voters Slam Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio for Blaming Chicago Rally Shutdown on Donald Trump
Breitbart ^ | March 13, 2016 | Katie McHugh

Posted on 03/13/2016 3:09:35 PM PDT by Innovative

Supporters of Sens. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) took to social media to slam the freshman senators for blaming leftists shutting down a Trump Chicago rally on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.

“I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment, when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence — to punch people in the face. The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We earlier today in St. Louis over thirty arrested. That’s not how our politics should occur,” Cruz said Friday. “You know, the City of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence and it is my hope that in 2016 that we can appeal to our better angels and avoid going down that road once again.”

Cruz supporters, incensed by the Texas senator’s blame game, stormed social media to express their anger. Top comments on a Friday Facebook post promoting a Cruz “victory fund” drew furious responses.

I guess you are ignoring Trump's -67 favorability rating or his head-to-head polls. Trump averages losing to Clinton by 6 while Cruz edges her out.

It’s not even really about Trump. Cruz refused to defend the Americans at the rally

Foreigners & street thugs using voter intimidation against the American people in America. Cruz stood against the people.

“It’s not even really about Trump. Cruz refused to defend the Americans at the rally. He condemned them like the National Review would. He is against us.”

Bam!

Was Trump speaking allegorically when he told his supporters to “knock the crap out of them”?

Right.

Which is why he has a score of 100 from the ACU.

I could go on, but it’s a lost cause.

I think that Cruz blew himself up with his ham-handed reaction to the Bernie Brownshirts.

The problem now is to figure out a way to hold Trump’s feet to the fire. A short list:
1. In his autobiography, he stated support for the assault weapons ban. He needs to repudiate that.
2. Support for Planned Parenthood, and all of the great things they do for women.
3. Support for unlimited socialist 3rd world immigrants (H1-B visas)
4. Replacing Obamacare with Single Payer (from the frying pan into the fire.)

We’ve got our work cut out for us, no question about that.

Cruz refused to defend the Americans at the rally.

What is even worse is this creep was willing to "stand" with the "persecuted" P*ssy Riot. SMH

Seems to be the same excuse given by all these so-called Cruz supporters that are leaving for Trump. It makes me wonder if they were even Cruz supporters at all.

But it is evidence, that like the one they now say they support, they do not have convictions or principles with which to stand on, as they are showing their true hypocritical character, when they can shine on Cruz for the same things they embrace in Trump.

I'm going to start using that to mess with people.

Maybe if you listened to the full comments by Cruz, and stopped believing what the MSenemydia puts out there, or the cutup youtube videos, only showing a portion of what he said, you’d understand, Cruz DID defend the 1st Amendment and DID NOT lay the blame on Trump, at all.

Cruz: “Is Donald Trump the one that’s responsible for the tone of his rallies, and Donald Trump alone?”

“Well, let’s be clear. Listen, the protesters have no right to engage in violence,” Cruz says. “They have no right to threaten violence. And these protesters, whether it’s Black Lives Matter or Bernie Sanders protesters, who are coming in just trying to shout down any speaker, that’s not free speech. The First Amendment gives you a right to speak, but it doesn’t give you a right to silence others. So the protesters are behaving abusively and wrong.

“But, at the end of the day, in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top. And it is not beneficial when you have a presidential candidate like Donald Trump telling his supporters, ‘Punch that guy in the face.’ We ought to have a president who brings us together, who doesn’t seek to divide us. We’ve seen a president dividing us for seven years. We don’t want to see that going forward.”

He correctly points out that Donald should do a better job setting the tone, because he’s right, people ARE listening to him and he IS someone who is leading and being looked up to. That is not the same as blaming him for what happened and it is not the same as siding with those stupid violent protesters.

The spin on this is just so beyond ridiculous.

Wonder what the boys with the private jets promised the three stooges for these attacks on Trump? Now we got Hillary yelling at the top of her lungs that we need gun control. They got to disarm Americans in order to fully implement their agenda. These commies will stop at nothing till they run out of people to kill.

Ok, so Trump didn't say punch them, but "knock the crap out of them" is saying the same thing. Literally.

And Trump DID say that.

They tried to use this to cozy up to the media and establishment and sway voters to them. They were opportunists. They could have united with Trump and stood for free speech. They could have stood with an attacked fellow conservative, but they cared more about getting votes. Shameful. Time will tell, but I think and hope that the voters will tell them what they think at the ballot box.

Thanks for your full Cruz quote...

Well it is Trump’s fault, and his Trumpbot’s fault they have been saying what everyone feels and everyone knows about the Washington cartel. It doesn’t hurt that The Blonde Obama has been part of the establishment for thirty years. Obama and the Democraps built this fire, Trump is just the match.

Always wish Free Republic had a “like” button like Facebook.

I haven’t been on here much at all. Sad to see much of F.R. has jumped the shark and is saddling itself to such a horrible candidate.
