Speaking of coarse rhetoric, we should initiate hate speech laws. And it’s really a good thing that Obama is handing over internet regulation to enforce hate speech on the internet. [See profile.]

Yep, Cruz is right. We should quit antagonize anyone. So let’s make it into law.

Yes, the best way to deal with brown shirts is to let them censor us. For example, book burning.

He’s talking about that lying bitch from Breitbart.

Right, although I suspect she is more misinformed and confused than a liar. After all she spoke truthfully initially when she said that she had no idea who grabbed her.

But "members" is plural so Sen. Cruz's allegation must extend to other incidents, or of course be false. Either Sen. Cruz is just lying or perhaps he is referring to the incident where a reporter was pushed to the ground by a Secret Service officer. In that incident, reported by the media and characterized initially as an example of Trump's campaign picking on reporters - in fact it was the start of the theme "Trump's campaign uses violence against the press" - it turned out that the reporter actually grabbed for the throat of a Secret Service agent during an argument.

I think even Sen. Cruz would know that physically assaulting a Secret Service agent will result in a violent response, and that Mr. Trump's campaign had nothing to do with the policy.

These move on protestors went there because they don’t like Trumps message as it is everything what the left does not want. Closed borders, people working, going by the law of immigration, taking ISIS out, no Obamacare and socialist health care and for anyone and I mean anyone , including cruz to even say that Trump is at fault is a piece of crap and are being on the side with move on and black lives matter thugs.

hell most of those idiots last night had no clue why they were there. Seeing some of them asked why you were there and they could not answer just shows how dumb Sander supporters are.

Comes a time for throwin down.

Going to an opponents rally to disrupt it is arrogant, NAZI brownshirt stuff.

It shows a lack of respect, and that such a disruptor is not concerned with the consequences.

A little dose of consequences is needed to restore civility.

We’re not going to be shut down by these communists ANY LONGER.

You're the one pushing the load of crap. Spin, in other words.

Dozens of (former) Ted Cruz supporters on this site have renounced him as a result of his comments last night, and rightly so. He showed de facto solidarity with left wing criminal agitators.

So take your BLM/MoveOn hand-wringing butthurt up with the former Cruz supporters. I didn't convince them to reject Cruz as a result of Cruz's words: Ted Cruz did.

Cruz f----d up, plain and simple. He's been exposed as a naked opportunist on more than one occasion, but this failure of leadership on Cruz's part; his failure to stand for Law & Order against orchestrated Criminal Thuggery, is simply the straw that broke the camel's back for "some" Cruz voters.

Ted Cruz said what he said, and intellectually honest People can draw their own conclusions from Cruz's own shameful words.

After being Crushed on Tuesday, 3/11/2016 will be remembered as the day the Ted Cruz jumped the shark. It's his Waterloo...

I never said Trump's statements were the cause of these organized protest, but it opened the door for them to attack him this way. We have seen organized leftists mobs before and will continue to see them.

And yes, Obama seems to get a free pass on this because of media friendly to him and that we don't resort to violent behavior(nor should we) in opposing him.

Are you still blaming Cruz for rightly saying that the protesters were responsible for their own actions, but that Trump is responsible for the statements that he's made at his rallies?

Are you claiming that Trump isn't responsible for his statements? I never said he was responsible for the organized leftist riots, but he did leave himself more vulnerable to them.

And yes, intellectually honest people can judge just who is responsible for their "shameful words".

Here are several examples from a single thread of Cruz supporters who have changed their cote after his comments from last night.

There are dozens of similar examples from different Freepers on other threads.

These people weren't convinced by me: they were convinced by reading Cruz's own words.

Face it. Cruz f----d up by expressing de facto solidarity with organized, extreme Left criminal disruptors.

So keep drinking your Establishment kool aid.

Ted Cruz has done this to himself:

This is how I feel too. I was leaning Cruz for my vote on Tuesday and I am now definitely goin Trump.

I have to agree. Read the quote by Cruz this morning and couldn't believe it. Anyone who would willfully and knowingly pretend that this wasn't a scumbag, libtard “rent a mob” sent out to paint Trump as a provocateur, is a scumbag and unworthy of leading this country. Like the POS currently infesting 1600, his idiotic and irresponsible statement is wholly dishonest, opportunistic, and erroneous point the finger at blame at the victim rather than the perps. POS.

I just talked to a neighbor this morning who said he was on the fence and was in doubt for Tuesday, but had some problems with both candidates. After he saw Cruz take the side of move on and black lives matter he said he will now vote for Trump

Like the first poster in that thread, I was a Cruz supporter (actually voted for him while holding my nose in the primary). I am now supporting Donald J. Trump.

I will not now support Ted Cruz unless he is the last person standing against Hillary. He sided with Soros, MoveON, Sanders, Clinton, and BlackLivesMatter.

And I even used to support Ted Cruz. These liberals-at-the-last-minute are really disgusting to me. And I wasted hundreds of dollars on Cruz. I regret every single penny of it.

Here are a few more. As I've noted, there are dozens. I never realized I was so persuasive.

Apparently Ted Cruz is magnitudes more persuasive than I am.:

I actually voted for Cruz in the primary. I now feel bad about that. I am beginning to love Donald J. Trump. The man isn’t afraid and he doesn’t back down. That is the type person we need leading this nation.

You and me are in the same vote. Very disappointed in Cruz’s reaction to all this.

In the light of recent developments, I’ve had to change my thinking and my tagline.

Old: 'Trump and/or Cruz, it’s all good.'

New: 'Trump is the now only hope.'

This is an epic fail on Cruz’ part. You can clarify what CRuz said but he is talking out of both sides of his mouth. This is no time for Wishy washy Establishment weasel talk. He thought he was going to be able to take advantage of this situation to use this against Trump. Bad idea. Bad reaction. Bad judgment. Cruz is done.

I find it remarkable that not one Trump supporter will admit that Trump is responsible for his own statements at rallies.

I guess this just goes along with never admitting wrong or not seeing the need to ask God for forgiveness.

I will readily admit that Cruz and especially his campaign have made mistakes.

Trump is responsible for his own statements and he is not afraid to say so. In fact, he often doubles down on his statements just in case the LSM and people like you didn’t hear him the first time.

What he is not responsible for is the planned attack in Chicago last night. That was arranged high up the Establishment ladder, probably all the way to obama, and carried out by the useful idiots at BLM and other communist agitation groups.

One of those punks will try to take out Trump and then obama will say “see I had nothing to do with it!”

Nothing Trump or his supporters have done can justify acting as an apologist for organized criminal behavior on the part of Left-wing thugs.

Wrong is wrong, and Ted Cruz failed to come down forcefully on the side of Law & Order.

Consequently, and as a result of his own words, Ted Cruz is losing respect from formerly enthusiatic supporters. There are literally dozens of examples on this very site who have said as much since last night.

Ted Cruz sunk to a new low last night...

Thank you for acknowledging that, but surely you don't mean that Trump should double down on calling for violence (self-defense is a different matter).
