Trump supporters are being treated unfairly, we were stopped from free speech. Don Lemon: Are you going to stop rallies due to protesters? Trumps says, I don't know, do you want to have people killed?
Trump is handling this great, not at all the way that Gergen, etc. called for. It will be a hoot, because I just KNOW the press is going to revert to its old template.
Trump says the protesters were bad dudes, they did lots of damage, they are violent.
Lemon cites Gergen, the candidate sets the tone - what are you going to do about this? "I don;t want to see people hurt, that's why the statement, 'go in peace' but there are groups that cause problems, that stop the right of free speech by non-violent people, the people are not angry people, but they are angry with the direction the nation is going, and they are angry with the open borders and loss of jobs."
Would you meet with the protesters? If it was in good faith, but for them it is a business and I don't deal with professional agitators.
Lemon is accusing Trump of inciting violence. Trump says he is not inciting violence, but if a protester is hitting a woman or swinging a fist, I'm not looking to do HIM any favors. Trump off the phone. Maggie Hagerman of NYT looks stunned, and resumes the old narrative as if the previous dialog never happened.
I believe the protesters are paid...they won’t say their reasons for being there.

Sadly, there are a couple of them on this thread who are being obtuse, just as some of the pro-Trump people would be were this situation reversed. Anyone who has been paying attention here knows who the zealots on both sides are.
