Based on the latest polling data, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump appears certain to win the upcoming March 8 Michigan primary and is likely to also take the corresponding race today in Kansas.
A FOX 2 Detroit/Mitchell poll released on Friday shows Trump increasing his already massive lead in the Michigan primary.
In the survey of likely GOP voters, Trump was picked by 42%, putting him 23% ahead of and more than double his nearest competitor, Ted Cruz, who sits at just 19%. Marco Rubio placed third at 15%, in a statistical tie with John Kasich....

Go Trump!
Thanks to back-stabbing Romney - not smart of Romney to resort to lies like Hillary’s.
This is awesome. I am listing to boring Cruz right now in Kansas. He says the same ole thing every speech. What a bore. Without Trump, this primary would be horrible and probably less voters then even 2008 for Republicans.
For whatever reason, Trump seems to not do as well in caucuses. I think that these small races are important, not for the delegates, which should split about evenly, but for the narrative.
If Trump can sweep these states, it lends an air of inevitability. That's why I think he's campaigning in Kansas so hard.
Of all the states voting/caucusing today, I think Kansas is the toughest get. In a lot of those rural towns, the main "social organization" for those people are their churches, and they strongly encourage their members to vote. Cruz should do very well in that demographic.
Lousiana is a given for Trump. Kentucky should be leaning Trump, but who knows. I don't know much about Maine but I would think the support of the popular governor will help.
So, tonight isn't about the delegate count so much as it will be about perception. Are the establishment attacks working? That will be the headline tonight.
Beware of caucuses. Easy to rig. Cruz is a master at it.
Cruz’e entire speech at CPAC was badmouthing Trump and his entire campaign rallies are badmouthing Trump. He has no record to run on because he’s done nothing in almost 5 years in the senate. Still this late in the primary season, not the first senator that works with Cruz has endorsed him. If that doesn’t speak volumes about Cruz I don’t know what does.
I gave my vote to Cruz here in Virginia. But were it not for Trump, my vote for Cruz would have helped get Cruz to 3rd or 4th behind a couple of establishment candidates in a low turnout primary. Instead there was record GOP turnout and most of those extra people went for Trump, some for Cruz along with some flunkies around DC who were paid or told to vote for Rubio.
My prediction due to the anti-Trump screed by the GOPee’s Mittens is that Trumpster sweeps all states today.
You make it sound like that is a bad thing.
Exactly, that one act by the GOP treasonists blew up in their face bigtime like an atomic bomb, people were absolutely outraged by the blatant backstabbing, it was shocking really. Trump endorsed Mutt and he signs that stupid “Republican pledge” and they turn around do THIS to him? Unbelievable, and it was just the absolute viciousness of it, attacking him personally calling him a “fraud” and a “phony”, yet Mutt goes lightweight when he was running against Obama? And look what we got as a result: A guy as POTUS who we know damn well today is a traitor to the United States. That is what Mutt Romney allowed to happen.
I really want Trump to win Kansas because Kansas is quite similar to TX and OK. amd it would look like a firewall against Cruz winning other midwestern states.
The latest poll from Kentucky, about a week ago, Trump has a 20 pt lead over Cruz and a 13 pt lead over Rubio. But it’s a caucus so beware.
As someone said elsewhere .... if Romney wanted to damage Donald Trump he should have endorsed him ;)
The Mitt Romney Effect".
Kansas is another Iowa. They love their preachers. And Cruz will probably tell his staffers to tell everyone Kasich has pulled out of the race.
Trump was in Wichita today. I didn’t hear it, but my dad said he was obnoxious. I guess my dad saw it on TV because he is in Oklahoma. Anyway, I am in the KC metro and everyone around me was voting Cruz, except one lady who had not made up her mind. She said “I don’t know, just not Trump.”
There are a few conservative senators, you know. Not one of them has endorsed Cruz.
We have several here going shortly to vote that will be supporting the anti-establishment candidate, Trump. I'm hearing very long lines to vote.
