Despite conventional wisdom that he is not electable, Donald Trump is leading Hillary Clinton by two percentage points in the crucial battleground state of Ohio, says a new Quinnipiac poll.

No Republican has ever captured the White House without taking Ohio. Trump out polled Clinton 44 percent to 42 percent.

Trump may take a couple of traditionally blue states (Michigan? New York? Pennsylvania?) and throw off the calculus.

I wish I had not read that headline. I was once, a long time ago, a smack talking teenaged male, and I remember the old meaning of the word. Not a pretty picture.

Michael Medved used to be worth listening to. Now, he supports the Rino candidates and calls anyone else a loser. He’s become insufferable - wrong about Trump at every single turn. I can no longer listen to his show.

We really don’t care what the polls for the national election even say at this point.

We believe that Trump will win not because of what some pollster says. But rather because he’s a fighter.

We just finished watching Mitt and McCain getting trounced by one of the weakest candidates ever, and that’s even counting in his mulatto skin. Why? Because they didn’t fight! Heck, they didn’t even TRY!

But if we nominate another non-fighter, say hello to First Lady Bill.

"FWIW, some are saying that there are inner city folks who like Trump's message, and that any poll won't properly factor that in."

Because if they like Trump, they may simply not vote, fully (and probably correctly) expecting that whitey will have his way if they stay home as in fond years' past. So there's (almost) no way to a correlate a sit-and-spinner to +1 Trump; but there are some ways to correlate a sit-and-spinner to -1 Cankles; and that is her cadre's greatest fear - the mau mua vote returning to '04-'00 levels, or more to the point, Bubba's '96-'92!

['12] 95-5, ['08] 99-1, ['04] 93-7, ['00] 95-3-2, ['98] 82*-12-6, ['96] 77*-11-12

* Gallup classified "non-white" '96 and prior.

Jeff, Pinging you to: The Census has a PDF breakout of minority voting that is a gold mine.

Angry people are going to get out in vote. The New York Times (of all places!) has an article that is linked through MSN’s homepage. It’s a thorough evaluation, with interviews, of just how disgusted people are because of Romney’s speech. It just might be the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

Definitely a lead balloon floated by the GOPe to gauge jackpotting the convention. They couldn’t even get one lousy news cycle out of it. No sooner than the speech was finished than Priebus (and even Reuters!) poured cold water on it.

You sure or are we just being hopeful. To win we need a %10 lead to deal with media bias, our party’s ineptitude, and their cheating. Oh, and the GOP laying down as they always do. I already see people waver on here for Trump.

You are so right it’s a SECRIT conspiracy by every private polling company to stop the conservative savior Donald Trump.
/s

When numerous private polling companies correctly show Trump leading going into a primary, Trump fans have no problem with that. When Trump then goes on to win as predicted they celebrate that the polls turned out to be more or less correct.

When these same polling companies show over and over again that HRC easily beats Trump nationally, or that Cruz and Rubio outperform him, his fans scream “lie!” and fling poo.

You’ve noticed that, too(chuckle)

But I still maintain if on election night Trump takes New York, it’s over.

Polls this early are meaningless when it comes to the general election. Hillary’s problem is the more she speaks, the further her poll numbers drop.

We’ll see in Nov if all these Democrats that voted in the open primaries for Trump are really Trump converts or Operation Chaos participants.

November will clear that up and not, “my uncle’s friend’s girlfriend’s dad’s son who never voted GOP is voting Trump.”
