"Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration: these are temporary foreign workers, imported from abroad, for the explicit purpose of substituting for American workers at lower pay. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant, widespread H-1B abuse and ending outrageous practices such as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end forever the use of the H-1B as a cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire American workers first for every visa and immigration program. No exceptions."

If Cruz and Rubio want to bitch about Trump using legal workers under a visa program, how come they have done NOTHING to stop or change it?

Can you imagine if George W. Bush had thought this quickly on his feet to respond to the attacks, often false, by Democrats ? or if McCain or Romney had campaigned like this ? Love him or hate him, Trump is different for any establishment Republican politician, that is for certain.

I think Donald has stated this opinion all along. I missed the debate...stopped watching them.
This press release is apparently a clarification of a response.
Can’t watch the debates anymore, for any amount of money.

Trump is aligned with Senator Sessions’ legislation in December.
— - - - -
“Sessions introduced the bill along with Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. The legislation was inspired by cases at Southern Con Edison and Florida Disney where American workers were forced to train their foreign replacements before being fired.
If the bill passes Congress, H1-B visas would be cut from 65,000 to 50,000.
Ron Hira, an H1-B visa expert at Howard University, said the proposal by Sessions and Nelson would stop companies from taking advantage of the current program as Florida Disney and Southern Consolidated Edison did.
More than 80 percent of H-1B visas are awarded to workers being paid less than the average wage in their field. Many of those H-1B workers have lower skills than the American counterparts they are going to replace, and the American workers often have to train their H-1B replacements, he said. Instead of giving visas to foreign workers with ordinary skills, this bill would allocate the visas only to the most highly skilled foreign workers making it more difficult for employers to abuse the program.

I like that Donald is willing to clarify or fix a mistake. Better than leaving things hanging. I feel really comfortable having Miller & Sessions working with Trump.
I think Trump needs to bone up on the alphabet soup. HB1, HB2 etc.

Huh? Kelly’s question wasn’t about H1B visas. Check the transcript.

Trump Voters are SO IGNORANT of the FACTS !
Trump Tower Got Its Start With Undocumented Foreign Workers
FEB 26 2016
" ... Donald told me that he was having his difficulties and he admitted to me that seeking my advice that he had someILLEGAL Polish employees on the job," Daniel Sullivan testified. "I reacted by saying to Donald that 'I think you are nuts.'"
"I told him to fire them promptly if he had any brains," Sullivan added.
Under oath at the trial, Trump was asked if he recalled when he learned of the unpaid workers. "I really don't," he said.
Asked when he knew they were undocumented, he said, "I really still don't know that."
Sullivan, who has since died, told NBC News in 1989 that Trump's pleadings of ignorance were not to be believed.
"Donald's lying. Flat out," he said.
In 1991, the federal district court sided with the union dissidents and found there was a conspiracy to deprive the pension funds of hundreds of thousands of dollars. An appellate court overturned that decision and ordered new proceedings.
The union lawsuit was eventually settled for an undisclosed sum, but the Polish workers were never a part of it and didn't collect.
Years later, Trump Tower still looms large in its builder's personal story. It was the natural place for him to launch his campaign, with his daughter, Ivanka, introducing him as a fierce negotiator who could make impossible deals a reality.
"[He] has the discernment to understand what the other party needs," she said, "and then get exactly what he wants."

It’s the “New and Improved” policy. Sure he changed it, but he’s showing he is, as Jimmy Carter said, malleable. And while it’s true he’s also vulgar, crass, and mercurial, this change shows how his decision making is purely situational. He’s not grounded in anything, except maybe his liberal roots.

And Trump was the only one targeted with props, videos and charts. As if it were Trump, not the politicians, who commanded, led and was part of this government of betrayal and decline. The irony screams.
