Trump to hold press conference at 1:15 ET on C span. The above schedule for cspan does not reflect this yet.
How strange is this getting in Cruz-land? Palin bad. Romney good. That strange!!How strange is this getting in Trump-land? Limbaugh bad. Christie good. That strange!!
They do make crap. I used to buy things like bobby pins, hair clips from a well-known American company - some of those items have lasted 40 years and I’m still using them. Now the same brand is made in China, costs relatively twice as much, and they’re of such thin metal that they become unusable in weeks.
The Amish still make great hairpins:

I get so annoyed at these kinds of phony gestures. He is talking to people in his audience, or to his questioner, or his fellow debator. As an auditor I can tell if he is genuinely talking to that person, and I am overhearing, or he is talking at the camera faking that he is talking to me rather than the person he is talking to.
It's like witnesses and attorneys who address the jury rather than talking to each other like normal human beings do. It makes my skin crawl.
It's part of the wiring of the human brain. We can tell what someone else is looking at or who he is talking to or what he is pointing at without being on either end of the action. Unnatural acts that distort that natural It is an unnatural act that screams - hey you, I am looking at you, and I am manipulating you. And my brain screams -freekazoid go manipulate someone else.
Tricky Dick [Nixon] staring at me through a camera wierds me out. But that's me. Stare at my dog like that and you will be his dinner.
central_va where did you come from? Remember, you’re on my no-call list so once again I’ll just say this and then say goodbye.
Tariffs ARE a tax and do NOT promote domestic industry, it only PROTECTS them from competition, so the American consumer loses. Why does American industry need to be protected? Because of federal government interference that boosts the costs of doing business like forced minimum wage, high taxes, suffocating regulations, and protecion of unions. Tariffs and protectionism do NOTHING to address these ROOT CAUSES of businesses driven elsewhere to more cost-friendly locales.
Bye bye.
Limbaugh was better today actually
You guys can have Romney
Wrap yourself in it
Ted is going to
Romney helped Trump today
Folks outside the beltway and the Mormon west have nothing for Romney
Trumps fan base is much bigger
Like his bank account
And beautiful women entourage
I used to like Cruz first then Trump
The more I see how Cruz acts in real life the smaller his five foot eight frame gets in my rear view mirror
You’re contradicting yourself. First you say Trump shouldn’t tax companies. And then you say the cause of our economic woes is the federal government, including taxes.
So you’re saying Trump is wrong, and then he is right. All in the same post.
Oh Yeah. Isn’t the first and won’t be the last. I have my asbestos suit on that has had much use lately. The breastplate of Righteousness and the shield of Faith very handy also.
Thanks. :)
BTW, I don’t think Trump is a loon. I think he’s a smart guy and means well, but he’s really of on this one as are SO MANY Americans and many here on FR, a supposedly conservative site. Man, what does it take to get remedial Econ 101 and 102 out there to these folks?
More than that, China has protectionist policies, including monetary devaluation, that prevents free trade. What you do is selectively set tariffs on one vendor and threaten the rest. They will begin to crumble. takes time, but our situation can be reversed. Other countries protect their workforce. We are pretty much the only one that doesn't.
Here are the words of the Tariff act of 1789.
Whereas it is necessary for that support of government, for the discharge of the debts of the United States, and the encouragement and protection of manufactures, that duties be laid on goods, wares and merchandise:"
Excuse me? How is that a contradiction?
We’ve been through this before - we are no longer a fledgling country trying to get up to speed. We are the most powerful country in the world that keeps shooting itself in the foot.
Bye. Again.
The situation is even worse. We are pissing away the biggest wealth creation engine the likes the word has ever seen. Free Traitors are the Judas Iscariots of the nations economy.
Indeed...well said.
I was all Cruz from READING about him as an outsider. Then I read about his Goldman Sachs and Citi loans. And his Goldman Sachs employed wife and her involvement with CFR. And his super pacs, watched him go Elmer Gantry on roids, saw the list of GOPe donors and finally, the insanity of Glenn Becks bromance with him.
No thanks.
I judge Trump now by who is against him. And with each passing day, i find I’m more agreeable to voting for Donald Trump.
RMoney just boosted The Donald in my view this morning.
Cool pic. Looks like there were several angels at the presser?
Ted Cruz has just proved in public that he is in bed with the Republican Establishment!!! You Cruz fools have been had by “Shyster” Ted Cruz!!! Not-Too-Bright Folks.....you have been had!!! In bed now with Romney, McCain, Graham, Rubio...what a team of losers!!!
Ted Cruz is nothing but a low life man, that will sell his very own soul to the Devil...if it helps him to survive!!!
First of all, capitalism and taxes are at the crux of economics. Capitalism is wealth creation in the private sector whereby the government takes some of that wealth, in taxes, to pay for necessary services. (If you are following)... Only the private sector creates wealth.
Here is the pay off: you must have businesses, including manufacturing, to not only create middle class jobs - but also to have any wealth creation to tax... a good economy and a funded government are all knitted together. Right now, You hardly have any middle class, so you have no real money to pay for government.
There are those dumb enough to think we can have a country of government employees and burger flippers and still exist. Most government employees think that we could all work for the government and tax each other to pay each others salaries. (Think about that.)
Even Wall Street only moves money around, kind of like the deck chairs on the Titanic. Fact is, there never really is free trade. Just like communism always turns out to be an oligarchy, free trade always turns out to be job losses in this country.
