Have you priced a Polo shirt made in the Philippines? They're $90. Nike running shoes, made in Vietnam, $150 (unless on sale)and Apple IPhone, without contract.... $699, made in China. So no. Nothing is cheaper made outside the country.

More than that, China has protectionist policies, including monetary devaluation, that prevents free trade. What you do is selectively set tariffs on one vendor and threaten the rest. They will begin to crumble. takes time, but our situation can be reversed. Other countries protect their workforce. We are pretty much the only one that doesn't.

I never said anything is cheaper made outside the country, I said much of the merchandise is cheaply made.

My view is that if China or others don’t like tariffs, fine, we’ll start making and buying American again.
