Donald Trump Overwhelms G.O.P. Rivals From Alabama to Massachusetts
nytimes.com ^ | March 1

Donald J. Trump won sweeping victories across the South and in New England on Tuesday, a show of strength in the Republican primary campaign that underscored the breadth of his appeal and helped him begin to amass a wide delegate advantage despite growing resistance to his candidacy among party leaders.

Mr. Trump’s political coalition — with his lopsided victories in Alabama, Georgia, Massachusetts and Tennessee, and narrower ones in Arkansas and Virginia — appears to have transcended the regional and ideological divisions that have shaped the Republican Party in recent years.

With strong support from low-income white voters, especially those without college degrees, he dominated in moderate, secular-leaning Massachusetts just as easily as he did in the conservative and heavily evangelical Deep South.

Brandishing his Super Tuesday victories as proof of his political might, Mr. Trump said he expected to consolidate the Republican Party behind his campaign.

“I am a unifier,” he told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., after the winners of about half the day’s contests had been declared. “Once we get all of this finished, I am going to go after one person: Hillary Clinton.”

Glenn Beck is Cruz’s most important backer.

Trump can’t. There’s a “debate” Thursday night. And Ruboto and Cruz are comin’ after Trump big time.

Ohio, Florida and the Ides of March are coming up, and I think Trump is as anxious as you (and I) to start taking it to Cankles.
Why? He could have retired years ago, but he enjoys winning.

But he and his people are playing it cagey. I do believe Bill’s beard is dreading having to square off with him. He’s not Bush or McCain or Romney.
He’s a smart, obnoxious, arrogant loudmouthed, *real* New Yorker, and he’s not going to beat this coughing, croaking, shrill, scatterbrained, pretender—he’s going to destroy her.

I have 268 to 142.

That is OK. YEB! has squat and Rubio has 78.

This fight started last June with YEB! saying he didn’t need the base.

My delegate count from Real Clear Politics:

Trump = 196
Cruz = 125
Rubio = 62

I heard on Fox the theory that Rubio is staying in the race to take delegates from Trump. That way Trump will fall short of the necessary delegates to win the nomination. Hence, a brokered convention. Democracy is definitely like making sausage.

Yes, I was happy to see how he handled himself in the presser. Congratulating Cruz was the right thing to do. His tone was just right.

As for The Establishment—I am beyond livid! So, they’re going to start a pac devoted to derailing Trump?! The will of the voters be damnned? How effin dare they?

The GOP old guard deserves everything it’s about to get and more.

“He’s gonna hit his ceiling any moment now.”

That ceiling has an address. It’s 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Trump vs Cruz?

Trump won 7 or 8 out of 11 tonight.

I’m all for Cruz staying in the race, but let’s not get delutional.
