During the 2008 presidential campaign, Sen. Barack Obama began peddling his national healthcare system. On more than one occasion, he pointed to Canada and the United Kingdom as examples of a workable national healthcare system.
When I first heard him point to them, I instantly thought of Rachel, a work acquaintance who lived and worked in the United Kingdom. She was experiencing abdominal pains and having problems eating for months before England’s National Health Service doctors finally diagnosed the problem to be her gall bladder. The doctor said it needed to be removed. However, from the time they wrote the order to remove her gall bladder to the time it was finally removed was 7 long excruciating months. If you’ve ever had gall bladder problems, you will know just how painful and sometimes debilitating it can be but it took England’s National Health Service system 7 months to wade through the red tape, approvals, scheduling, etc.
I don’t know about you, but that’s not an example of a workable healthcare system that I would point to.
Since that time, the United Kingdom’s NHS has been steadily cutting more and more covered services or how much they will pay out for services that are covered. The same is true in Canada, only some are blaming the push for green energy for the cuts to Canada’s national healthcare system.
One concerned Canadian, Vance Petersen wrote to the Windsor Star, pointing the finger at green energy for what’s happening to Canadian Health Care. His letter reads in part:

I lived in UK years ago and had some similar experiences.
First time my wife got ill and called up the dr to make an appointment, she was asked ‘are you public or private?’
My wife asked ‘what difference does it make?’
They told her she had to wait three weeks for her dr appointment if public.
If she was public, she could come in that same day.
No wonder there is anger out there that has been expressed in today’s Super Tuesday’s primaries.
Washington and Obama have made a HUGE mess of the medical system. It must be fixed. This is another symptom of the power-mad far left taking over something while destroying it without care or thinking. It is all about votes and control.
I went through the same thing with Japanese health care. Broke my shoulder in Osaka and my doctor INSISTED that I complete $800 worth of blood tests and get $10,000 of plastic surgery. Flew back to the US and got a $30 brace.
even here in the boondocks you can see a doc and have yer GB out a week to ten days, 24-48 hours if it's acute
I have said this for years. Much of the push for ObamaCare was racial. Moochelle said it years ago on a hot mike: ‘healthcare for OUR people!’
I now go to Mexico for healthcare.
Their doctors are frequently US trained and equipped.
They still render professional services, which the US healthcare model now prohibits.
The doctors and dentists in the US have to charge by the JSIVA stds, so their medical database bookkeepers run the books for every penny permissible.
You will always be scheduled in a vacant Dr’s examination room, one of three, and that wait is billed to insurance, even when it is known the doctor won’t see you for another 30 minutes.
When you see the dentist, they always run more xrays than needed, then try to find another case where they have to replace all your fillings.
Go to Mexico. Dr has the same xray equipment, same labs, and he spends 30 minutes with you telling you what you need and don’t need, without intentions of getting rich over the billings. He still renders a professional service.
US MDs are prohibited from providing that service any longer because they aren’t getting paid if they do render it.
Go to Mexico, stay in a 4star hotel for <$200/day and get dental implants at $600/implant, instead of $2k+ per implant in the US. I meet Canadians there all the time on their vacations,...in the 4 star hotel getting their dental work and paying for their trip with the savings.

I have watched more apendixis and gallbladders become acute and infected in the past four years than ever before.
Back a ways any clown with a medical degree could diagnose and get treatment for either.
These days the requirements for procedures and scans before treatment is prodigious. And if there are not all the indicators they are forced to wait, and pretend that there is nothing wrong. Have see THREE young to middle aged adults with debilitating post op issues after gallbladders or appendix removed too late. One man out for a year and with two additional surgeries.
Called my local epidemiologist to discuss this trend. Sorry he said, we don’t track this sort of thing.
damn... around here it's 7-10 days from PCP referral to H&P and OR scheduling for all carriers based on the surgeons word of medical necessity so long as it's scheduled as out-patient procedure, welfare and medicare don't even require authorization for inpatient stays
