Watching the fight unfold between President Barack Obama and Senate Republicans over who should choose the next Supreme Court justice, Michael A. Bowden got angry at what he saw at the latest affront to the first black president.
And then his thoughts turned from Washington to his own state.
Obama won't be on the ballot this fall, but Pennsylvania GOP Sen. Pat Toomey will - and Bowden has made defeating him in November a priority. [...]
Democrats are pressuring senators in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, Illinois and Wisconsin to back down from their refusal to confirm or even consider Obama's nominee to succeed the late Antonin Scalia or face the consequences in November. In some states, they may get help from African-Americans who see the court battle as the latest GOP snub of Obama - one rooted in racism, which could galvanize a crucial component of the Democratic voting bloc. ...

The poll could say "Republicans are opposing 0bama over (fill in the blank). Is this a racist affront to the first black president?"
A. Yes
B. No
You could fill in the blank with anything from "Court fight" to "Chuckie Cheese fight" and you will get the same result.
Esta mierda otra vez? The professional victims think everything they don’t like is “an affront” to one of their idols...
Unfortunately for the AP, the latest affront is to the white side of our first black president who is 50% white. Hope the AP can figure out how to be fair.
Dog-bites-man story.
“African-Americans”
This whole article is racist by definition. The author implies that every black person thinks and feels the same way. Which is impossible. A statement saying some African Americans feel..., would be accurate and not racist.
You can not argue with anyone who’s point is based on feelings. What they are feeling is true, to them.
However it is also true, others feel differently. So who’s feelings should count?
Answer, neither. Obama has an obligation to nominate a person for the Supreme Court, and the Senate has an obligation to decide on that nomination. It is not “racist” for the Senate to decide that allowing this President, or any lame duck President to simply put on the court anyone they want.
The founding fathers set up the Constitution so that are built in checks and balances. While the President represent perhaps the most liberal vision for our nation, the last few elections have shown that conservatives have voted in Republican majority to represent a more conservative vision for your nation.
It would be hoped that a compromise candidate could be found. But because of the life time appointment of a Supreme Court Judge, the Senate could decide to wait until after the next election and allow the new President (with a mandate from the electorate) to appoint the justice.
Race plays no part in the process, it is politics.
I think (and this is only an opinion) that until some black get over the idea that any opposition to them is based on race, the racial divide in this nation will never be bridged.
Black people are so accustomed to being lied to and manipulated by their racist noses (a learned behavior) that they will quickly believe this latest lie aimed at manipulating their racist outrage.
This story came out for one purpose, and one purpose only; the make McConnell and the rest of the Establishment weak in the knees so they’ll give Obama exactly what he wants in a SCOTUS nominee.
The GOPe are already set to cave.
Nope. McConnell never means what he says either way. He’s a collaborator.
McConnell never means what he says either way. Hes a collaborator.

Agreed!
I’m sorry, but your race card is overdrawn and has been declined. Please choose an alternative form of blame. Thank you.
He is not “the first black president.” He is half white.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Indeed. They do not want equal opportunity. They want equal outcomes, regardless of their lack of effort.
The Race Card-Pull it first, pull it often. No expiration date.
I wonder when AP will do a story on just how terrible Obama’s policies have been for the “AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY”....
Everything is an affront to Obama.
Yawn.
Incapable of discerning up from down or left from right.
Good job, Bowden. Your demoncrat masters got you right where they had your ancestors -170 years ago. On the plantation.
Why, pray tell, should these people have geto power over everyone else?
