...Cruz doesn't tithe. He and his wife donated less than 1 percent of their income to charity and nothing to churches, including to their own in Houston, according to tax returns from 2006 to 2010, the most recent Cruz has released.
His campaign declined requests from The Associated Press to provide recent tax returns or otherwise demonstrate donations since 2010. Cruz has said he and his wife were more focused on using their seven-figure annual income to build a financial foundation for their family.

Thanks for the link.
Absolutely. Humility goes a very long way with me.
He made a lot more than me and I give 10%.
Net or gross?

Gross. You’re beating the wrong horse on this one. I give to other Christian charities too. I hope I can give as much this year as last (my income does vary from year to year).
Our church helps lead people to the Lord. I believe that it is a worthy cause.
I certainly wouldn’t say a person isn’t a Christian if they don’t tithe.
I recently heard Cruz’s father on Christian radio expressing how important his faith is to him. I am rather surprised he’s been tithing only 1%.
Is he supposed to project what his future tax return will be? Also I didn't think we HAD TO file our 2015 returns until April 15th.
As for you, I did not ask if you give. I asked if you tithe. Do you give 10% of your total income to the church?
I haven’t done my taxes for last year yet but I believe so. My income varies year to year and I haven’t figured my income for 2015 yet. I will soon but I am reasonably confident that I will have tithe 10% for 2015.
I guess it’s fair to ask you the same? Truthfully, I don’t care if you tithe or not. I don’t know you. I don’t know if your act like a pillar in the church or not.
Additionally, I don’t believe people have to tithe 10% to be Christian. I don’t believe everyone can.
I am not the one judging others on this scale. I won’t narrow it to this year. Over my lifetime I have done it and I have not done it. So I know both sides. It is always better to be faithful with what God has given you. The standard is right whether everyone is wrong. It is not an issue I am deciding my vote on. I think the effort to smear Cruz for every irrelevant thing is deplorable.
He does not call himself the face of God.
I am disappointed in Cruz. I wouldn’t have expected Trump to be tithing but I expected a little more of Cruz.
God loves even sinners. Even those in government who view all money as their own and seek to stick it to people that give to causes they think "too religious"--unless those causes shut up and learn their place beneath the government that owns all money and grants rights.
It’s not so much his tithing or if he started after 2010. It’s whether some on Free Republics are anti-Christian bigots and haters, and they troll the posts to find places where they can let their bigotry and hatred known.
Well, that’s just ugly. 5 Million....and only gave less than 1 percent?
That’s just pitiful. I fear he truly is a typical, corrupt politician.
Disheartening.
Just giving you what you are giving Cruz. You should be held to the same standard you hold others to.
Tell ya what, if I should run for office, and I decide to make my fundamentalist faith a major campaign issue—one of my main qualifications for trusting me, etc; and if I am asking people to vote for me, volunteer for me, and give me their hard-earned money, I will make sure my spiritual life is in order and all my finances reflect that. Eh, I probably would not have ex-CIA working on my campaign either.
BTW, 2 points:
1. We all sin—me and even you and teddy.
2. We are to hold those in authority to a higher standard. That’s why we get upset when pastors cheat on their wives, City treasurers embezzle funds, and teachers have affairs with students.
Now, you can go enjoy the rest of your weekend defending Ted from other heretical Freepers who might have issues with him. You have done a valiant job with me; your work here is done.
The link burden falls upon him who asserts a fact, not upon those who would dispute the fact.
IIRC, Trump said that he found forgiveness in Holy Communion.
Which is pretty theologically and Biblically accurate if you ask me.
As for his faith? Well, I’m not his pastor. I’d love to talk to him about it sometime, though I’m pretty sure it’ll never happen.
Ted Cruz is a Dominionist. His father says that Ted is anointed as King to rule over all the earth! That is seriously NOT CHRISTIAN, nor BIBLICAL! It’s a crackpot cult! Thank God Christians are discovering that fact.
Never became a businessman that needed to do so - any wonders over how Cruz's wife's business associates donate? If they file joint, then he's part of it since we're stretching things so much around here.
and what makes it stink even more is he had a LONG TIME to release his tax returns and the strumpets never said a word
all they do is dismiss his democrat support, his gun control support, his associations with Jersey mobs to build his casinos, his associations with nancy pelosi, hillary, harry reid, mitch mcconnel, and all the leftists and rinos who people here decry and hate, yet now...you jump on his band wagon as if he was the guy all along.
instead of voting for the best guy in the race with the best personal character, with the proven voting record, who had excellent Constitutional approach...you guys vote for the adulterous whoremongering mafio buddy who promoted hillary, nancy peolsi, and harry read and all rinos against tea party candidates.
You guys are hippocrites.
that draft dodger did nothing for veterans except wear a costume in high school and claim he knows more about being a vet than those of us who served.
#NeverTrump
Do you really think Trump tithes!!
