...Cruz doesn't tithe. He and his wife donated less than 1 percent of their income to charity and nothing to churches, including to their own in Houston, according to tax returns from 2006 to 2010, the most recent Cruz has released.
His campaign declined requests from The Associated Press to provide recent tax returns or otherwise demonstrate donations since 2010. Cruz has said he and his wife were more focused on using their seven-figure annual income to build a financial foundation for their family.

Provide a link please. Words by a Freeper can be just that, words.
I believe if Santorum were still in the race, I would vote for him. Cruz is getting really hard to defend.
Link doesn’t work.
He might have made public a copy of that.
But an extension tells you nothing.
You give a number for your income and the tax you owe and attach a check for that amount.
No details.
Before the time runs out on the extension, you do the full report and pay any difference.
Filing the extension keeps you from being delinquent.
As I used a CPA, I do not remember all of the details even though the nature of my business caused me to file a dozen or so over the years. But that is the basics.
If my memory is correct, you don't even need to sign the extension as your CPA can sign it for you.
So if it is correct that Cruz got an extension and showed that, he has done nothing.
Do the other candidates tithe?
This is not an issue for President. He admits he should have, so as a Christian thats that. He should have. As President, it is a non issue.
It does matter. Anyone professing to be as holy as he and his father are making himself out to be should know the tithing amount. He made a lot more than me and I give 10%.
He lost a lot of my respect on this one. He’s not the person I thought him to be. I don’t want to say hypocrite but he can now spare me with the holier than thou act.
Donald doesn’t have to defend himself on this because he doesn’t put on that kind of show.
Yeah, I know one doesn’t have to tithe to be Christian. However, it is a statement of faith to me.
I will try to find the link, but you might do your own homework.
It isn’t. There is no FEC requirement for candidates to release their tax returns. If there is, I haven’t found it.
...if you don't count Bill's used undies.
January 2012?

Cruz has courted the pastors, raised his hands in prayer with Christian followers, spoken from the pulpit, had his father, a pastor, stumping to Christians for him. He wears his faith on his shirt sleeve and is capitalizing on it.
Many of the most ardent Cruz supporters on FR have pretty much insisted that if we are a Christian, it is our Christian duty to vote for Cruz. OH, and we are NOT true Christians if we don’t.
So really, a central reason, if not the central reason Christians are are being encouraged to vote for him is because of his faith...so it is sort of important how he honors it.
I read it earlier but can’t find the FR thread. However, here is a link to an article:
This is not the link from which I got my original numbers. That one was over a 26 year period so he numbers are different.
However this one is much more detailed.
Note that in the very last paragraph of this article, the auhor reveals that he is not a Trump fan.
That makes this report even more credible.

Do you tithe?
Do you tithe?
Tithing is an Old Testament Legalism.
It sure is great for funding Pastors and Church buildings.
Non-sense. Jesus didn’t change the law. He said so.
If not for funding Pastors and Churches, what are you doing to help further the gospel.
Do you tithe?
Yes I do. And a lot higher percentage than Ted Cruz. But you want hear me on the radio talking about how morally superior I am.
He does not talk about being morally superior. He is contrasting positions and record and temperament.
Trump says the IRS targets him because he is such a great Christian. Does he tithe?
As for you, I did not ask if you give. I asked if you tithe. Do you give 10% of your total income to the church?
Those releases are thru 2010. Nice try.
