Breaking— CRUZ CAMPAIGN STAFFER SAYS CAMPAIGN IS DONE —

ted cruz

A Ted Cruz campaign staffer today told CNN the campaign is done. “His Campaign is done.”

“The Cruz campaign has to focus on getting basic campaign techniques right,” said a Republican operative who works for the presidential campaign, who asked not to be identified. “I don’t think Cruz can win the nomination at this point. I think his campaign is done.”

Cruz took a huge blow on Saturday after he could not win a single county in South Carolina, a state with an enormous evangelical vote.

If you have actual hard data to the contrary please ping me.

I have no hard data at the current time, but I expect some will be along eventually.

Which is why I used the term “identifies as” without filtering it according to sound theology. Same as the poll takers.

it might be prudent to point out there are not enough purist dyed in the wool evangelicals for Cruz to get him nominated

The exits I saw on Saturday evening were in the S.Carolina newspaper “The State”. The exit poll was pretty exhaustive.

You don't register by party in SC.

Then I don't see how accurate Data is obtainable.

You may even think that Trump really didn't win the popular vote by 75,000 votes over his nearest competitor.

I have no doubt that he did. I just don't think the "Popular vote" is within the scope of a primary. A primary is intended to select a party's preferred candidate, and it is supposed to exclude the opinions of Democrats and Independents.

I've repeatedly said Trump would win the General election, but that is not the point here. The Republican party is supposed to nominate based on Republican Party members opinions, and no one else.

Don't get me wrong, I can live with Trump, but I don't see him as the most conservative candidate in the Race.

If he wins, I will cheer him when he fixes the border and stops Muslim immigration, but I will boo him when he nominates a Moderate or Liberal to sit on the Federal Bench.

I am a Trump supporter. Yet somehow we managed to carry on a perfectly rational and respectful series of posts with one another. Who'd a thunk it? lol.

I have generally had polite conversations with Trump Supporters. I have never forgotten that he may be our nominee, so why would I want to tear him down or create acrimony?

Lot of things I like about Trump. He was one of the few people that took the "birther" issue seriously. I have always respected him for that.

Of course I always suspected he was angling for the nomination when he was poking Obama on the "birther" issue. :)

South Carolina, a consistently Red state, that Cruz claimed “ will be like Iowa”. Is now “liberal”, because Cruz get’s a big fat zero there.

Really. It gotten to where Cruz fans use obamacare like analogies to explain his failing. It’s not the ‘product’ it’s the ‘packagings’ fault.

And a rogue operative’s opinion means what? Word is the staffer is legit but is looking for work for another campaign. It’s an attempt to push Cruz out more quickly to try and consolidate the anti-Trump choice - Rubio.

Cruz never had any issues until he began to attack Trump. That was his biggest mistake.

Are you kidding me? It’s an election. It’s the primaries. If you don’t attack your opponent and point out their differences from your policies and who they are, then you aren’t doing it right. And to think Cruz shouldn’t attack Trump, because he’s Trump and he’s either above that, or that he’ll bully them into submission, shows exactly WHO Trump is.

And it shows who his supporters are, if they are for this. Astounding.

Without broad demographic appeal, no Republican nominee can overcome the Democrat’s built-in electoral advantage. Ted simply doesn’t have it, and would lose to even Hillary The Wicked Witch.

If that is true, it's time to burn the nation down to the ground. Hillary would be the perfect witch to start the fire.

An electorate so stupid and evil as to put Hillary into power deserves horror and misery.

Among other reasons, it's why Romney lost to the worst president in U.S. history.

I believe that is due to the fact that ALL of the media is Liberal Democrats and they steer the stupid members of the public during elections, That Google put their database and their microtargeting database experts on the field in the first ever assault by the STASI wannabee tech corps, and because the Obama machine cheated in all cities large enough for him to get away with cheating.

In other words, the electorate was mislead, artificially stimulated, and subsequently cheated.

He has appeal beyond evangelicals. I know where is a nest of Libertarians that have been saying good things about Cruz.

What was that thing he filibustered for 21 hours in the Senate? Wasn't it Obamacare?

On target.

A poorly run campaign can still be successful if the candidate has charisma and relates well to voters. That doesn't seem to be the case here.

I'm still mystified by the scheduling of a campaign event, within hours of the vote, in Horry County, a County he lost 49% to 16%.

I said New Hampshire was Liberal. I said South Carolina has an Open Primary, and so therefore is not actually a Republican caucus. It's more like a mini general election.

Too bad Ted Cruz lost his way. He got totally sidetracked by Trumps attacks and allowed him self down into the gutter where Donald Trump lives. So sad the Republican voters are going to nominate a guy who is a life long liberal because he played them like violin and the bought into his “build a wall” and “make America great” propaganda. He has no plans to do any of it. He still hasn’t told us how he will get Mexico to pay for the wall. Because he has no plans to do so. His whole campaign is a lie.

Trump has a great story he tells in many of his stump speeches.

He describes how the guy (or gal) from back home gets elected to US Congress by saying, "When I get to Washington, I am going to fight for you, I am not going become part of the corrupt bunch there, I will not take bribes, I will not deal with lobbyists, and I will resign after one term..." etc.

Then the man and his wife get to Washington. They look around. The Italian marble floors, the gold-plated wall paper, the cocktail parties with the rich and famous, the media fawning on them, lobbyists buying them anything they want...

And they look at each other and say, "Honey, we've made it! We've finally made it! I will make sure I do whatever I have to do to guarantee we never leave!"

Do you know what our trade deficit is presently with Mexico? We are a debtor nation... That should have never happened... And if the Uniparty gets their way we will no longer be the USA. Yes, it is that serious.

Educate yourself how Trump intends to make Mexico pay for that wall... hint, I gave you the answer.

According to exit polls 74% of SC voters identified themselves as Evangelical. Trump got most of them.
