Texas Sen. Ted Cruz didnât offer a confident response Sunday when asked if he was going to defeat Donald Trump in his own home state of Texas. When asked on Meet The Press by host Chuck Todd whether he was going to win Texas, Cruz responded with âI hope so.â
Worth noting, an internal campaign poll leaked to PPD last week showed Cruz trailing the national frontrunner in The Lone Star State by single digits. The interview comes after Cruz finished a disappointing third place in South Carolina. He did his best to put a spin on the fact he finished slightly behind Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and way behind Trump despite the electorate being nearly 7 in 10 evangelical Christians.

I was @ GOP HQ here today in Central TX.They said it’s gonna be close. People here, and in the next County are finally coming out of the closet, and openly voicing their support for Trump.
I think Trump’s big win in SC made it “okay”.
Election judge told me people are asking at the Early Voting Site where to get Trump signs.
Don’t take his last hope away. LOL!
On what objective evidence do you base that assumption? Rubio hasn't won a single state, and is polling well below Trump, all across the country.
He's a kid, still wet behind the ears, who can't seem to show up to his real day job most of the time. He's not getting anywhere near the White House.
And IF that isn't enough for you, just look at the tens of thousands who show up for Trump's rallies.
Then take a look at FR's own caucus votes. :-)
And the very LAST person, on the face of the earth, whom Trump should pick as VEEP is Cruz!
LOL.....BRILLIANT !
Ted Cruz says he won't use former President Bill Clinton's political liabilities against Democratic presidential contender and former first lady Hillary Clinton.
"I am not interested in getting into personal attacks and innuendo," he said Tuesday at a news conference in Cisco. "Hillary Clinton's biggest liability is that her policies are a disaster."
New York businessman Donald Trump, the front-runner in the Republican race for president, has used Twitter to black Bill Clinton as abusive to women.
"If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the womenâs card on me, she's wrong!" Mr. Trump said Monday via Twitter.
Cruz says he won't engage in such attacks.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooh....this post says quite a LOT about YOU; more than I think you really wanted to tell! LOL
Wow, looking at the SOS’s early voting stats on the Dem side, with the exception, maybe of Travis County/Austin, Hillary takes TX big time.
She will take Bexar, El Paso, Dallas, and Harris handily.
The masks have fallen and now Texans are seeing just who and what Cruz is. They did NOT know him, not really, when he ran for the Senate, so they fell for his lies and he look good on paper. NOW? Now he looks AWFUL; at least that IS what they keep telling me.
If you did, you would find that MANY hold the the reverse opinion, from the handful of people you claim to know.
You should patent that.
Yes, that’s what I’ve been hearing too!
Ted just got this Massholes family three votes today absentee.
It matters.
First New Hampshire didn't matter because they're too liberal. Then as we approached South Carolina suddenly that had become too liberal. Now Texas doesn't matter because losing is almost as good as winning because... delegates!
Between "polls don't matter", "when's the national primary?", "Trump isn't that far ahead in delegates", "most states haven't voted yet" and "Trump will implode" the supporters of all other candidates have run through every possible rationalization of primary political fail in the book, often all in one post.
If anyone other than Trump were the frontrunner there would be a lot more realism. Reality: Cruz loses Texas he is done forever. He should drop out now if that's in the cards.
Someone has. Maybe Cruz should read his books. Start with Art of the Deal.
Why? Did they find out he was Canadian?
How does that “truthful hyperbole” thing work again?
Like a charm.
Well, that's one vote wasted.
Be sure to get interviewed on at least three cable news shows as an "undecided voter" with "Serious Concers" about Trump, ok?
