People close to Cruz privately fear that a big loss in South Carolina to Donald Trump could signal more defeats to come in the so-called SEC states that are the lynchpin of Cruz's strategy
'If Trump gets 38 or 40 -- and Cruz is second with 22 or something like that -- it's going to be very ominous,' a pro-Cruz fundraiser

I am thankful to South Carolina voters.
South Carolina will either give him momentum, or take it away. I have already made the prediction that he will win South Carolina, but I would feel more confident about this prediction if they did not have open primaries.
CNN?
If Cruz loses to Trump or worst Rubio, Cruz is going to be even worse then he is now............it will be bitter revenge. Oh it might just end up being the most ugliest campaign.
Win or lose, send Teddy back to Canada.
Even if Cruz comes in 2nd (or 3rd) in SC, it wont stop him. He will be in the race until the end. He is Trump’s biggest threat.

What’s keeping ya?
Before Super Tuesday there is no momentum at the top. However there is a lot of thinning of the bottom tier candidates.
After super Tuesday, you can start talking about who is leading as trends are starting to set in.
You're welcome. (I'll be voting for the only conservative in the race.)
Members of the “Carolina democracy” who vote Feb. 20 can’t vote Feb. 27, can they, when Mrs. Bill comes up to bat to strike out Sanders.
Why would a committed democrat forfeit a vote for The Beast or Bernie just to help Trump?
