South Front: Analysis Intelliegence ^ | 19 Feb 2016 | Translation by J.Hawk

According to Turkish Ulke TV station, the victims of the February 17 terrorist attack in Ankara include 22 Turkish Air Force pilots, out of 28 total fatalities.

Turkish government has not issued an official confirmation but, according to Turkish media, Erdogan is deliberately trying to conceal that fact.

The explosion took place next to the Turkish Armed Forces headquarters building, as well as the parliament and government buildings. The fatalities included 26 military and 2 civilians. Another 60 people were wounded.

No terrorist organization accepted responsibility.

so does that make the 20 something pilot deaths a major blow

Yes.

With excellent training and the right equipment, it takes about 3 years to train a minimally competent fighter pilot. For seasoned pilots who can lead and manage combat fighter operations it will take more years - perhaps 6-10 total at a minimum. You can't just hire these people off the street and train them quickly. These are very specialized and highly trained people and you cannot just trade them back and forth between aircraft systems and missions, say by taking C-130 pilots and turning them into F-16 pilots. The proper training takes years.

This is a bad loss for any fighter community. It may not be fatal, but it hurts Turkish fighter capabilities badly.

Pretty astounding to read that....no wonder Erdogan doesn’t want it known...that’s a serious defeat for Turkey’s Airmen.

Wonder if it was ISIS or Russia that took them down...Putins been plenty angry with Erdogan sine first of last year....Turkey was not invited into the war theater so it’s a serious breach of International Law. Putin even warned of that. And other International leaders said it would be an unlawful “Invasion”.

Not so sure Russia revenge as much as Putin and the International community told Erdogan to stay out of Syria....Putin was already plenty peeved with this ongoing power struggle with Erdogan.....lots of electricity between these two for over a year now as Putin has always said Erdogan had open borders to any terrorists wanting entrance into Syria....the International leaders, though slow coming around...agree now.

Russia said it would extract a price for Turkey having shot down its jet - maybe this is it.

“An inside job?”

Ah, well then. Being an INSIDE job, why, we know from experience that it can ONLY have been the JOOS. And, inevitably, we’ll find out that the Trilateral Commission is involved, which can only lead us back into the shadow of the Illuminati. Herr Rothschild looms large, yet again.

Did I miss anyone?

We won’t go to war with Russia over Turkey. They have involved themselves in this far beyond what the West thinks and much of it is an internal struggle that became even more inevitable with the rise of radical Islamists to power.

It is time for the media to begin telling the truth about the destruction wrought by our feckless foreign policy driven by an administration that saw the Arab Spring as a civil rights movement. How many people dead? How many nations destabilized? How many refugees have fled. What a dangerous world the Middle East has become in the presence of the Nobel Peace Prize winner for world peace.

I have said it many times, but the world owes a major debt to the Generals of the Egyptian military who rose up and refused to allow the yoke of radical Islam to be placed upon their nation. Without their bravery the problems over there would be far worse.

It really is stunning when you look at it completely.

I’ll bet Putin ordered this hit. Payback for his bomber Turkey shot down. Bet the farm on it.

I got the impression it was a centrally located single explosion. What are the chances that the Russians had something to do with this? Sounds like a serious chess move, taking out a knight or a bishop. Turks have been getting pixxed about Russian bombing in Syria and close to Turkish border.

Yes indeed. Torn as to the likeliest culprits. Kurds who got tired of being range targets, of Russians collecting a debt with interest?

Dispersal of resources during combat operations should be SOP. 22 pilots out of 28 killed, 60 more injured. Putin be prudent in his planning.

Yes, of course the Russians had something to do with it. The Kurds have been struggling for independence (and struggling for power against each other) since before WWI -- so now they've suddenly learned to shoot straight? Not a chance.
