According to Turkish Ulke TV station, the victims of the February 17 terrorist attack in Ankara include 22 Turkish Air Force pilots, out of 28 total fatalities.
Turkish government has not issued an official confirmation but, according to Turkish media, Erdogan is deliberately trying to conceal that fact.
The explosion took place next to the Turkish Armed Forces headquarters building, as well as the parliament and government buildings. The fatalities included 26 military and 2 civilians. Another 60 people were wounded.
No terrorist organization accepted responsibility.

Blowback ...
Now THAT was a high-value target. Fighter pilots are expensive and time-consuming to train up.
That’s a major blow in a smaller country. Pilots don’t grow on trees.
Ping.
If the attacks had been attributed to only at one location, I would have an easier time buying in.
Three locations and only air force people killed (all but one), smells somewhat fishy to me.

I think they meant the single explosion was near all three bldgs....but I may be reading it wrong.
An inside job?
If it turns out that the pilot who shot down the Russian plane was among the dead or wounded, then it would be pretty clear who instigated the attack, but not necessarily who carried it out.
Russia exacting her vengeanance?
Okay. Look, I don’t know the layout, so perhaps only aircraft pilots hang out there.
Seemed a bit iffy to me, but that doesn’t mean I’m right if it pans out differently.
I appreciate the mention.
Originally I thought it may be a false flag op, but with the dead being airforce pilots, I don't believe Turkey would be involved in that.
Kurds, Russians or Chechnyans under contract.
Or, Iranians.
Of those, only the Chechnyans do suicide.
Agree - considering the source as well. However, if even 1 Turkish pilot was killed, it's payback in the eyes of Erdogan and maybe why Erdogan said Russia was behind the bombing.
Everything we've seen so far adds to furthering tensions in the area and the continuing march to all out war.
If they're really in Syria, they are targets and will be hit by Russian air.
Yes, it certainly does lend itself to a march to war.
I don’t think that’s in anyone’s best interest, but why should man be any smarter today than he ever was, if you catch my drift?
International thugs don’t change much.
Or Erdogan is just trying to give off the impression they were pilots.
