WASHINGTON â THE Clinton campaign is shellshocked over the wholesale rejection of Hillary by young women, younger versions of herself who do not relate to her.
Hillaryâs coronation was predicated on a conviction that has just gone up in smoke. The Clintons felt that Barack Obama had presumptuously snatched what was rightfully hers in 2008, gliding past her with his pretty words to make history before she could.
So this time, the Clintons assumed, the women who had deserted Hillary for Barack, in Congress and in the country, owed her. Democrats would want to knock down that second barrier.

They'd rather have Daddy than Mommy.
2nd wave feminist - “We dont need a man”
3rd wave feminist - “The state is our man”
Bernie is offering them the keys to the kingdom.
Feminazism isn’t dead. There’ll always be plenty of angry, hairy legged, hipocrite bitches.
They’d rather have the crazy uncle than the screeching
mother in law from hell.
Hillary knows she has most of the delegates looks like it’s in the bag for her and the rest of the debate game is just for show.
Truth is men and women, for the most part, do like each other and people of good will find it reprehensible for anyone to push their genitals out as a reason they deserve a vote.
Maureen Dowd has a long standing and very special relationship with the Clintons. She loathes them with a fervor rarely seen outside of the threads here on FR. She may be a hopeless moonbat on almost every other topic, but she has been calling out the Clintons for the corrupt sleezeballs that they are since forever.
DAMN!!!!!
Maureen Dowd is starting to sound like Ann Coulter.
Folks, we are in deep doodoo. Guar-un-damn-teed.
Her last sentence is a bit clunky but overall I would say this is an excellent column that summarizes things exactly.
And to have it in the Times is just wonderful.
Thanks for posting this.
Here’s to the Welsh - CHEERS! And thank you.
Pretty cogent, and succinct too.
...Maureen Dowd is starting to sound like Ann Coulter. Folks, we are in deep doodoo. This may be a very good trend. Trump also maintains a good relationship with Dowd. Don't think Dowd, a city sophisticate, could ever warm to the hippie communist, Bernie. |
Almost a decent article by Dowd. She’s always a good writer. I’d not take that from her.
And she’s honest about the Hillary hypocrisy over Bill’s sexual predations.
What is off the mark is her comparing Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas with Bill Clinton raping, assaulting, and power-predating less powerful women.
IIRC, Anita Hill never claimed to being raped or even touched. Hers was a story of ‘verbal inappropriateness’.
I didn’t believe her, but if Monica’s claim had been: “Bill talked dirty to me.”, then we would never have had any of the Clinton Sexcapades make the news.
Great opinion piece! Dowd takes her opera gloves off, then uses them to slap the face of Hillary and feminist leaders. Her critique is eloquent and devastating. You need to read this one. Everything from Lewinsky to Clarence Thomas. Wow. Maureen Dowd is a real classy dame. I'll open the car door for her anytime. |
Anita Hill never claimed to being raped or even touched. Hers was a story of âverbal inappropriatenessâ. You're right. It wasn't a rape charge, but it was certainly an attempt to utterly destroy Clarence Thomas's reputation. This is the Joe Biden I remember, the destroyer of a black man of intelligence and character at the hearings. Biden is one of the most despicable human beings -- which is exactly why Obama chose him to VP. |
Thanks, poco.
Good reminder about Biden. I’d forgotten his involvement.
