President Obama declared last year that “There is no military solution in Syria.” Sadly, Russia’s Vladimir Putin has now proved him wrong by imposing one.

Aleppo, Syria’s largest city and the last rebel stronghold, is about to fall, thanks to withering Russian air bombardment backing government and Iranian troops. That effectively secures Bashar al-Assad’s hold on power in at least a large rump of Syria.

In this particular case, Putin is correct.

There is no political solution in Syria.

Turkey was bombing Assad’s troops there today.

Russia steps in to defend Assad...

What side will the U.S. be on? ISIS and Turkey?

Will NATO stand by Turkey?

It’s about to devolve into a world war thanks to Obama (and George W) destabalizing the region.

Exhibit ‘A’ to support the argument that today’s demographics are NOT necessarily tomorrow’s destiny.

If Obummer says Putin is our enemy, I gotta think that maybe Putin is not our enemy.

Yea, the problem is that all the actors in Syria need to be replaced, but the only alternative is the null-set.

"Will NATO stand by Turkey?"

If Turk forces inside Turkey are attacked, "maybe".

If Turk forces are attacked in SYRIA, no effin' way.

Isaiah 17 kind of indicates that the null set is the result. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.”

Russia keeps bombing the sunnies of Syria. The sunnies pour into Europe as refugees.

The shite Assad consolidates his power. The sunnies pour into Europe as refugees in even larger numbers.

If anything, Russia wants Europe, not ISIS, to fall.

"The sunnies pour into Europe as refugees in even larger numbers."

This is solely the fault of Europe.

Nobody else bears any responsibility whatsoever.

Uh, Russia is directly causing this to happen. They want to overwhelm Europe with sunni moslems from Syria. This is a proxy war between Russia and USA. Russia is using its Iranian allies while USA is using its Arab allies. Iran is using Hezbollah while Arabs are using ISIS.

Either sunnies win or shites win, Europe loses.

"Uh, Russia is directly causing this to happen. "

It is Europe that is letting them in.

They have the ability to seal their southern border and sink small boats at sea.

They just WON'T.

I would advise the author to visit some of the recently liberated cities before calling the Russian solution “ugly”.

If Russia had some, I’d agree with you.
